Timber Trails was an absolutely beautiful resort with such an amazing location on Big Boy Lake. They had everything you could possibly need from kayaks and paddle boards to a fish cleaning room and a harbor to park your boats. On top of all the great accessories, they also had an absolutely amazing crew and the owners were so helpful and ready to help with literally any problem you might have. Great resort and even better people. Make sure to check it out!

We were very impressed with Timber Trails Resort during our week there in August of 2018. The property was very clean and well groomed. The facilities were in good repair. The beach/dock/waterfront was one of the better ones we've visited. Our children loved the beach and floating 'Bongo'. We rented one of their pontoon boats for three days of our vacation; it was very nice. It had a good fish finder + GPS, and was recently renovated....very comfortable. Our cabin was just right for our family. We did have one issue with the plumbing, involving the water heater, but the owner dropped what he was doing and spent the time needed to correct it. The owners and employees were very warm, friendly, and engaging. Our children also loved the playground, which is centrally located. It was also the site for several of the activities and crafts that the resort organizes for the guests. It's great that they involve the guests for things like the s'mores campfire night, and kids activities. The lake is just the right size. It's not too small, which might make it hard to find good fishing (there are plenty of hot spots for Northern, bass, crappie). But it's also not too big, which might attract too many speedy watercraft. Overall, this was one of our best, more relaxing vacations at a "cabin on the lake" resort.

Beautiful setting on 3,000 acre Big Boy Lake. We had a two bedroom cabin with well stocked kitchen. Grounds are well kept, great beach, nice boat docks, fun place for kids with swim Matt and water trampoline. Marina, fish house and bait station.

My family stayed for a week and it was the most relaxing, peaceful, enjoyable time that we have had for such a long time. My husband loved the fishing, my daughter loved the beach and making new friends with all the other kids. My mom and myself loved being able to sit on the deck and talk while looking out over the lake and watching my daughter play at the beach. We are not people that know how to relax very easily, but we defiantly did here. We also meet some very nice people and the owners were very nice and helpful. We will be back.

My wife and I made 2 trips to Timber Trails Resort on beautiful Big Boy Lake this year. The first trip was in July with our Grandchildren and the second trip was in September for the two of us. Both trips were awesome and this resort is the best in this area of Minnesota that we have ever stayed. The resort is clean, quiet, great for children, excellent fishing, and Tom & Kathy are great hosts! I have been coming to this area of Minnesota for over 50 years, staying at many different resorts, and Timber Trails is the best.
