Beautiful place for a fall hike - there are several options for different length hikes offering a view through the trees of Lake Pepin on the Mississippi - if you want to see hole in the rock but don't have a lot of time to hike - you can drive up to overflow parking at the campground and pick up...

We visited on Friday, October 7, 2016. We have an annual pass for all Minnesota state parks. This park offers fantastic views of the Mississippi River and Lake Pepin. This is a quiet an peaceful place. Worth the drive.

We went to the park twenty years ago and decided to revisit for a long weekend. We were camping with two small children and seven adults. The hiking trails are very treacherous and not at all kid friendly. It was very dangerous....I don't understand why there aren't people plunging to their deaths all over the place...I would never take children...

I am not sure I want to review this, because I don't know if I should share this "gem" with others. Why? Well because that means it will get booked faster than it already is and the dates we go we might not get it? Well okay okay... I have to share great finds and Frontenac State Park is a...

We were in the area and decided to spend some time checking out the park. I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful yet challenging trails in this park. The trails were through a dense wooded area and some of them ran down to the river. I would've loved to spend more time and hope to go back one day.

Just returned from a fantastic weekend of camping. The campsites are large with two raised beds for our tent and screen tent. The sites are close and not completely private but roomy so it was not a problem. The bathrooms and showers were kept very clean. Even the more rustic facilities were odor free. he hiking is abundant. There are...

We hiked along the trial closest to the river with two small dogs. The trail was narrow and steep in places but I never felt unstable. Views were gorgeous. There are a couple places where you can get down to the river, though those are steep as well. It helped to have the dogs pull us back up, ha ha!...

This is nice small park. We stayed for a night. Went hiking the next day. We liked the adventure in hiking the bluffs. They also have a nice picnic area and clean restroom. Not a lot of bugs during our stay which was great.

Frontenac is a great park for a one night stay. I have stayed at Frontenac countless times and love the park, however there is not a lot to do for more than one night. The hike along the bluffs is fantastic. While hiking last time we saw Bald Eagles, Turkey Vultures, Golden Eagles, and Osprey all within 20 yards. Once...
