One of our favorite B&B experiences ever. Hosts Dave and Eve were gracious and welcoming. This beautiful home was built in 1877, and featured gorgeous hand-carved woodwork everywhere. We stayed in the first-floor Butternut Room, which featured a pre-Civil War four-poster bed with a carved half-canopy as well as a jacuzzi, which was great following our afternoon 43-mile bike ride to Cannon Falls and back. Truly, this home is a feast for the eyes. You can tell that Dave and Eve have a passion for this business and enjoy every aspect of it, including sharing their home with their guests. We walked in and there were wine, cheese, crackers and homemade cookies waiting for us. We were also given a safe place to park our bicycles. Morning coffee was with other guests on the front porch, which was fun. Breakfast was amazing. The little pot au chocolat was the finishing touch (other than that, we won't say: it was excellent and original, and we don't want to spoil the surprise!). We'd love to come back and visit again.

My Husband and I like to stay at Queen Anne style B&B's whenever we travel. I have to admit this home did not disappoint. Dave and Eve have done their homework on its history, prior owners and neighborhood. We both enjoyed listening to them tell us about all the features, and former occupants of this magical place. We got there a bit early, but Dave welcomed us in anyway. Once we were checked in, the wine, cheese and meat was to tempting to pass up. Dave also made sure we knew were to get a good bite to eat for supper! It's a short walk to downtown, (and DQ for that end of the evening ice cream treat!), After a long day of shopping, hiking, exploring, or whatever you wish, make sure to come back and enjoy the screened in porch. You may even hear the "AhOohGa!" of a vintage car. It felt like I had temporarily traveled back in time! We chose the Rose Room. It was quiet, relaxing and a wonderful two nights stay. Breakfasts were, as everyone has stated, delicious. Thank you Dave and Eve for a perfectly relaxing and wonderful weekend.

My wife and I arrived early and we were greet by the very friendly proprietors of this establishment. We received an outstanding welcome which included a nice wine and cheese reception. The intent for our trip was a nice romantic escape to historic Red Wing, Minnesota and we were not disappointed. The house was absolutely beautiful with very warm and inviting features of a house of its age. The library was probably my favorite spot within the house with comfortable leather couches and a gorgeous fire place. We chose the Queen Victoria room and we absolutely loved it. It was warm, welcoming, and had a terrific whirlpool tub that came along with it. The location of the Candlelight Inn is perfect because it is close to downtown which made getting around very easy but is also located in a nice quiet neighborhood. The downtown area is approximately three blocks so definitely within walking distance. In the morning we enjoyed a absolutely scrumptious three course meal with the other B&B guests. Another highlight is because we stayed in the January / February time-frame we received a complimentary bottle of champagne to enjoy in our room. After our wonderful breakfast we also learned the history of the house. We also received a gift certificate for future stays at the Bed and Breakfast as well which was a wonderful touch. Overall everything was about as perfect as we could get. Dave and Eve were absolutely amazing! Thank you! Additional information: Military Discounts available to both Active and Former Military

Two person whirlpool tub was relaxing, ans the bed was so comfy by the fireplace. They serve you a 3 course amazing breakfast that was superb. Wine, crackers amd cheese served for happy hour in the evening. They have a great veteran discount also. Cant thank them enough for our stay. Will be back amd highly reccomend staying there. My husband and I spent the weekend here for our anniversary and it couldn't have been more prefect. Our room was beautiful and cozy, our host and hostess (Dave and Eve) couldn't have been kinder or more attentive. Breakfast was fantastic, both in taste and quantity. We felt like family, and met some wonderful people during our stay. Eve and Jim were also very helpful with restaurant and site-seeing suggestions - they were all spot on. They made our experience in Red Wing much more than we expected. We look forward to returning again.
