Reserved Trailhead Inn based on posted reviews. It was a great place to stay! Perfect location right on the trail. The 2 double bed room we had was excellent, very spacious and clean. As previous reviews noted, the deck was a great place to relax and meet people. I could go on and on, but will just say that we... More

In a nutshell: (It was just two of us.) 1. Perfect location for our biking. Right on the trail. 2. Room 311 a/k/a the Honeymoon Suite formerly "Detention Hall" in the old school building: Awesome. Exceeded my expectations. Large, airy, high ceilings, beautiful and a total home away from home. Huge windows, jacuzzi, kitchen with dishes, utensils, pots, table and... More

We had an amazing stay at Trailhead inn. We had 23 people in our group, and reserved most of the rooms in the main Tralhead inn building. Rode in on a Thursday evening and found all our rooms very clean, I mean clean, the air was on (it was a hot day in June) nice. It was an added bonus... More

We have been staying at the Trailhead Inn for the past 4 years. We love being close to the bike trail and the location of the Trailhead Inn. Our favorite part of the Inn is the outdoor deck. We love the tables and chairs, and it a great place to meet other bikers from around the state. Were making our... More

I am from Preston originally, so was familiar with the town and where this was located. I booked this location with my husband and our kids. The space we got was amazing. It was really just like staying in a 2 bedroom apartment for the weekend! Other family members stayed down the hall from us as well. The owners are... More

So, we stayed here as a family while taking part in some of the things to do in the area - bike riding, the caves, etc. Don't expect luxury. You'll get decently decorated rooms in a quiet place. It's an old school building that has been converted into hotels. It feels a little odd going downstairs and entering a classroom... More

This is quiet, extremely clean, basic rooms done very well, and about 20 yards from the Root River bike route. I strongly recommend it if you are in the area. The inn has two parts, we stayed in the motel-like part which is what I have described here.

We usually stay in Lanesboro but it was full up the w/e we went, so we turned to Preston. It happened to be a good thing because the Trailhead Inn is a great value ($129) for the space. Continental breakfast included (toast, muffins, yogurt, juice/coffee/milk, waffle maker). Although for summer if you plan to tube down the Root River, Lanesboro... More

We primarily booked this hotel based on its location to Mystery and Niagara Caves. We were also interested in the trails, as we've never visited this area before. There were no surprises at the Trailhead Inn. The website did a pretty good job in describing the amenities and the rooms were spacious and clean. The rooms each had their own... More

We were in the main Motel, not the Suites. Nice clean room for $100 on a weekend. The woman on the phone, and the guy working the night we stayed were both friendly and helpful. Microwave, LARGE mini-fridge, everything in the bathroom worked and was spotless, good A/C unit (a touch loud, but that can't be helped.) There's spare blankets... More
