What a restful stay in a quiet, beautiful setting! We snowshoed the trails a couple times a day, drank tea by the cozy fireplace, watched a fun movie from the stock of DVDs. The breakfast was enjoyable. Food was served in our room due to health restrictions. Extra efforts and precautions were in place to ensure everyone’s safe, healthy, comfortable stay. The only very tiny improvement for us would be more whole food and less white flour - but that’s not significant compared to the totally delightful weekend overall. Thank you!! We can hardly wait to return!
When I thought about where I wanted to celebrate my 60th birthday during the pandemic, I didn't have to think hard at all. Lady Slipper Inn keeps calling us back. This was our third visit and we enjoyed it every bit as much as the first. We've been there in spring, mid-winter and late summer. It's been perfect every time. Mike and Nadine are the kindest and most thoughtful of hosts. Seasonal touches add charm, without being over-done. This is a retreat in the woods that restores the soul. It also offers many treats for the palate. During this time of Covid-19, the innkeepers take great care to respect every protocol (masking, meticulous individual meal service, resting rooms between stays, etc) and we felt completely safe. We missed being able to interact with them more freely, but these times require caution from us all. We hope to visit again before too long.…
We were looking for a peaceful place to relax, enjoy northern Minnesota beauty, and feel pandemic safe. The Lady Slipper was perfect for this. We loved swimming and paddling in the private ponds, hiking on the gorgeous property, and watching beautiful sunsets and hummingbirds. Food was excellent. Nadine and Mike were great hosts. Nadine and Mike made sure we were well taken care of during our stay. We visited July of 2020. We felt very comfortable with the precautions in place at the Lady Slipper. With that being said we were treated to a wonderful weekend. The food was excellent, the service could not have been better. We will share our memories with friends and family and hope to return to the peace and tranquility of the Lady Slipper Inn. Thanks Todd & Michelle
I cannot even begin to explain how perfect the Lady Slipper Inn is! My husband and I (both 23 years old) took a short vacation and stayed at the Lady Slipper Inn for three nights. It is conveniently located only about 40 minutes from Itasca State Park (which we visited one day!) yet far enough away from the hustle & bustle of everything. The property is BEAUTIFUL with miles of hiking trials and complimentary use of kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, fire pits, and gazebos! Mike was gone when we stayed, but Nadine is the SWEETEST! She had everything we could ever need, always making sure we had what we needed. She was so fun and easy to talk to, gave us excellent advice for Itasca, and was an AMAZING cook! The B&B also had many games and movies for us to use and the rooms came with a HOT TUB and fire place in it! We loved this place and will definitely be back! :)…
We just spent our 50th wedding anniversary here and it was amazing. Mike and Nadine couldn’t have been more wonderful hosts. Breakfast was fantastic, the rooms are comfy and clean, and the property is so beautiful! They gave us a ton of information about the area, including a perfect spot to find ladyslippers blooming on the side of the road. They even helped us with our first time on paddle boards. You won’t be sorry you stayed here!
We had a great 2 night stay with a wonderful breakfast! Very welcoming! The owners were always making sure if we needed anything! We snowmobiled right out of place to catch the trails and came back to enjoy a warm jacuzzi tub/fire place and tv/movie! We would definitely recommend staying! It is winter but I bet summer time would be just as beautiful.....they have lots of trails and fire pits and I am sure more!
We recently enjoyed a 3 night girls get away at the Lady Slipper Inn. This property is a little slice of heaven on earth! There are two small lakes, miles of marked hiking trails and a large lodge which would be great to rent for a crafting group or a family reunion. The rooms at the Inn all have a private deck (ours faced the lake), fireplace, small frig and best of all a jacuzzi tub! We enjoyed canoeing and kayaking on the crystal clear lakes. Boat use is free for guests! They have paddle boards as well but we didn't use them. We also set up a crafting spot to make homemade cards, played games and just hung out. The innkeepers, Mike and Nadine are wonderful. Their homemade cookies and plentiful breakfasts were amazing. Can't wait to return to the Lady Slipper Inn!
This was the most relaxing experience of my life! My husband took me here as a surprise for our 5th wedding anniversary and we lucked out and ended up having the whole place to ourselves. If you are looking to getaway for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of city life this is the place to go. Mike and Nadine were so welcoming and you feel instantly comfortable. Each room has a jacuzzi tub which is wonderful and Nadine even taught me how to make scones as well as gave me every recipe that I requested (the food is sooo delicious!) We plan to come back every single year that is how perfect this place is. Highly recommend!
This place is so serene. Mike and Nadine are wonderful hosts and the food is out of this world. Their walking paths are well maintained. There is a jacuzzi in each of the five themed rooms. Paddle boats, paddle boards and kayaks are available. Our stay could not have been more fabulous!
