This was an unbelievable experience! We have been going through an extremely stressful time in our lives, my mother was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer after surviving a double lung transplant and the stress and heart ache have been almost unbearable. Whistle stop b&b gave my husband and I time to regroup and strengthen our bond. It was beautiful to put the real world on hold and be pampered. It made our anniversary so special. It reminded us to take time for each other, because tomorrow isn't promised. Thank you Jann and Roger for giving us the opportunity to relax.

I had stayed in the main house a few years ago and knew that this B & B in historic train cars would be a perfect family reunion event. And it was! My family loved it! We stayed in the three larger rail cars -I was in the Palace car and absolutely loved it! We traveled back in time, figuratively. The owner is such a gracious person. We were able to invite relatives from the area to picnic with us in the “courtyard” with a fire pit to warm us. We all were born in the area so we stayed in New York Mills often, where our grandfather lived. This stay gave us back very happy memories! Plus, we loved the train whistle and the sound of the train in motion going by. Thank you many times over! PS, breakfasts were fabulous! Karoline Anderson, from Minnesota & Pennsylvania

This was our 7th stay at the B&B! We have stayed in all the train cars, one twice and the Alaskan Cottage twice! We love being up North, the town is small with unique shops, dining and close to other points of interest. The decor is exceptional and we love trains! To hear the trains travel close by is a treat we truly love. So cozy and the breakfast brought to you in the morning is fantastic!! We will keep coming back in the fall for as long as we are able to celebrate our anniversary...... a couple of 52 years from St Peter, MN.

We absolutely love the uniqueness of the Whistle Stop BnB! We’ve stayed in 3 of the cars and plan to try them all. My husband and I enjoy the ambiance and the sounds of the trains nearby. Each visit has been extremely relaxing for both of us, which is needed at times in this bustling world. They bring breakfast to the car in the morning and it never disappoints. I love sharing our experiences with everyone!!!

We live on a lake and appreciate the quiet. We experienced the same thing at the Whistle Stop B&B! Yes, full disclosure - we heard trains at night and that brought back memories as both my wife and I support the rail industry. Was it loud and annoying - no. It was the icing on the cake. We stayed in the Imperial Car and when entering the driveway we knew we were in for a treat, The outside of the area is clean and maintenance (repainting) is underway. As we walked into our car, we were greeted with music playing that set the atmosphere. My wife and I explored the car and decorations with a smile, head nodding in satisfaction, and constant chatter back and forth at the discovery of something unique. We changed our dinner plans (a restaurant) and went to the grocery store for pulled pork and dessert as we wanted to stay on-board to experience the experience. Our dining was on the observation platform on the tail end of the car. The hot tub was relaxing, the bed comfortable and inviting, and evening went too fast. I stole away to the the local bakery for small donuts knowing breakfast would be coming. The breakfast was delivered to our car by Karen and was hot and delicious. We had a delightful chat with Karen before we left and look forward returning again. YES, we highly recommend Whistle Stop as this was a B & B that is worth the trip. Well worth the experience!…

Had the opportunity to stay for two night in the larger of the two rooms in the house, lovely beautiful four-poster antique bed and a nice adjacent sitting room. Breakfast is amazing; the owner is a peach of a gal who can absolutely knock your socks off with her cooking. Happy to have been able to return; had stayed in a train car previously (none available with our last-minute booking this trip).

These Trains are incredible. So perfectly re-modeled with history and authenticity and done with loving care. Staying in the train was so peaceful, comfortable and memorable. The morning breakfast was delicious. The folks could not be more helpful and nice before and during our stay.

The Viking Car was very nice inside. The outside wasn't at the same standard as the other cars with some chipping paint and a section of missing handrail.. It was too warm out to use the sauna. This was listed as an accessible unit with a ramp to the door. The grab bars by the toilet were helpful. There are grab bars in the whirlpool. It still might be challenging to get over the tall edge of the tub for someone in a wheelchair. A large showerhead is available if you choose not to use the tub. Instead of cable TV, the host has provided a collection of dvd's and player to use. I was able to get it playing but could not determine how to get the sound working. I did find a way to add subtitles, so I was able to follow the action. The train car contains several unique features along with the sauna. Visitors can sit in suitcase chairs. Half of the suitcase was converted into a seat and 1/2 serves as the back. I liked the bathroom night light which was a railroad style light. The host has provided almost everything a guest might need. There is an umbrella if you need to walk out in the rain. Wine glasses and a corkscrew are provided if you want to celebrate with a bottle of wine. Since Covid, the host now brings out breakfast to the car If the weather is nice, there is a small outdoor porch at the front of the train car. Bring earplugs. An active rail line runs about 50 feet from the property. Trains come through with horns blaring all night.…

I think I need to put a note re: exiting and entering the tub. The tile layer said people are to sit on the edge, hold the grab bar and turn...either in or out .He said people would know, you are not the first one to mention it, so a note it is..... This place is a unique place for a getaway! Stayed in the Alaskan Cottage this time (second time there, train car first time)! This was a very roomy place, bedroom, kitchen (if you want to cook) and dining/sitting area. Very large bathroom roll in shower & whirlpool tub. Very restful! Breakfast was very delicious. Very clean and decorated like a cabin. Will definitely be returning to try another one of the train cars! Thanks for a great experience!!
