My boyfriend and I stayed for our one year anniversary and we had such a great experience. The hotel staff professionalism is second to none. Excellent service from exiting the car door until driving away and waving goodbye. Taylor the check in lady was so sweet and even wrote us a cute hand written card for our one year anniversary and sent a gift to the room. The accommodations were very clean and elegant but the staff made it a perfect 5/5 experience. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for a family wedding and found it underwhelming. This is an older hotel originally built in the 1930’s and it shows. Though the rooms have been retrofitted, the windows are very narrow, resulting in darkness even on a bright, sunny day. We had a suite which, though spacious, felt to me like a long narrow hallway. The bathroom (double sinks, nice shower with separate tub) was near the entrance door, and the bedroom was at the other end through the living room. Very inconvenient, especially in the middle of the night. Another odd and very inconvenient thing was that the safe was located within a cabinet at its very bottom, thus in order to use it, you literally had to get down on the floor. Additionally, this was the slowest in-room safe I’ve ever seen. In sum, though it was good to be at the “wedding hotel” this is not a place I would ever choose to stay.

Hello and thank you for choosing to stay with us for a family members wedding. Providing the highest level of comfort/hospitality is our number one priority and I sincerely apologize for falling short of meeting your room layout expectations. The safe location is a bit cumbersome and certainly something I will asses so future guests do not share the same experience. Thank you again for your honest feedback. Sincerely, Phil Johnson - GM

Stayed at this wonderful hotel. One of the best experiences ever. Only one night, but I was ready to stay a week. Only negative was the hotel restaurant. They need help badly in so many areas but it’s a third party operation and not a part of the hotel. I recommend you go elsewhere. Lots of better places to go nearby.

I came to this hotel in February for a business trip for two nights, with two more coworkers, each one with our own room. Let me start by saying the hotel is gorgeous. Really beautiful property, with friendly stuff, nice decor, and good location! Even my standard room was very nice and spacious and had everything I could need and more. The hotel also has a nice bar downstairs which had a good ambiance and was a nice place to mingle with my colleagues after a workday. On the bad part. My room had a strong smell of chlorine (or something similar). As I arrived in the hotel it was late at night and I just decided to "suck it up" and sleep there. I woke up the morning after with my room (and my throat) still smelling like that. To make sure it wasn't just me with an overly-sensitive nose, I asked my colleagues (whose rooms were fine) and they confirmed they could smell it too. The hotel staff was very nice and moved me to another room for the second (and last) night. Sadly, this other room had the same issue and smelled like chlorine (at least not as bad, thankfully). The smell was probably caused by some cleaning product they use (bleach?), but with the windows that couldn't be opened, it was not going away. Weirdly, only my room(s) had that smell and my colleagues' were fine. The hotel staff was very nice about that. They apologized and gave me some bonus points. They also said they'd look into what product they use for cleaning that might be causing the smell. Too bad – this hotel was really great.

Thank you for taking the time to share your stay experience with us. I am sincerely sorry that you did not enjoy your overall experience at the Hotel Ivy due to an odor issue. As a result of your feedback, I will be meeting with our Housekeeping Director, housekeeper and cleaning product representative to discuss this issue and for the benefit of future guest experiences, make changes as needed. I sincerely hope this does not deter future stays with us. Again, thank you for taking the time to share and I hope we see you again should your travels bring you back to Minneapolis. Thank you - Phil Johnson | General Manager

Perfect location in downtown Minneapolis. Arrived at 10pm on an extremely cold Friday night in January. Staff was at our car quickly and valeted in a few seconds. Room was spacious, clean, and recently updated. Would definitely stay again.
