You know what you’re getting with The Graduate - very comfortable and characterful rooms with soft pillows and plush carpet - but at this particular hotel we thought it had been given over to students and there was no sense of it being an exclusive space for guests... So much so that she didn’t tell us anything about the hotel, including that we needed to alert housekeeping if we wanted our room serviced... So we came back to the hotel at 5pm to an unmade room... It’s not an unreasonable expectation that your room will be made up for you each day in a hotel...

The room was far too hot and wasn’t cooler until asking 4-5 times and waiting 24 hours (well into the reception) for the set temp to be changed from 75° to 68° and from the heat setting to the AC setting... The ceremony and reception space and cocktail hour space clearly had not been vacuumed when the tables and chairs were set up and we had to seek someone out to clean certain areas and the patio area was not clean at all; used cigarette butts were out there and garbage too...

Turns out "Guest Reservation" charged me twice for a total of $512.00 and a room was cancelled... I've reported The Graduate Hotel and Guest Reservation to the credit card company, BBB, UMN and the state AG... Still after months unable to recovery this money... Will never again book another room at the "Graduate" since they support these type of websites...

We also called the hotel number directly (612) 379-8888 seven times but encountered the busy signal... We re-parked the car and went back to the front desk to ask what was going on and were told the call button would be answered... The call went directly to the busy signal... The way we were able to exit was another guest gave us an extra key card so we could use it to leave the lot... Of course, we had to first open the entrance gate with the card and then get back into our car to enable the card to be used to open the exit gate... We were very frustrated and late to our brunch reservation... We have Hilton gold status but have chosen to stay with you when we come to campus...

I’ve stayed at The Graduate twice while my husband had medical procedures at the M Health UM hospital... Light rail is available right in front of the hotel if you want to explore the city...

I worked with a sales representative (Marcy) months ahead of time to reserve a block of 30 rooms for my wedding only to find out that only 10 rooms had been blocked... Marcy never responded to my emails nor returned my phone calls...
