I made my reservation for my stay at Minneapolis Marriott City Center directly with the hotel (reservation made 6 weeks prior) and I arrived promptly at 4 pm for check-in. I was told the hotel had overbooked and I was not able to stay there. It made me feel that my reservation and my business was not important. What was most upsetting though was that while I may have booked an individual room, I was not travelling alone, yet MMCC forced me to do exactly that. All of my colleagues were staying at the MMCC, instead of being able to meet them in the hotel lobby for breakfast, share a taxi or travel together, I was sent walking, separated from my group, a woman alone in an unfamiliar city. They booked me a different hotel, but I had never heard of the replacement hotel before. This caused me severe anxiety. Staff assured me it was a nice hotel, but they'd also told me I had a reservation so I really didn't feel I could trust them. When I travel, I always research ahead of time so I am familiar with the property and the neighbourhood and have a level of comfort about where I'm staying especially as a woman, travelling internationally, but that comfort was taken away. They gave me a map but I had to detour due to construction and I got lost. By the time I finally got to the replacement hotel, I was crying and frightened. MMCC paid for the cost of my hotel but failed to recognize that it's not always just about money, it's also about being able to have confidence and trust a brand. I do not blame the desk staff at MMCC, rather I blame the hotel's policy of allowing overbooking.

I stayed one night at westin minneapolis which is one block away and didnt like it too much so I switched to JW Marriott. Raquel at the reception desk was very helpful and pleasant who helped me check in and was very helpful during my stay. Lounge was very nice and was open 24/7. Location was very good and close to everything including shopping ,restaurants, shopping , basketball arena and baseball stadium.

This was my second visit to the Marriott City Center. The first was for business and this time, I brought the family. We stayed in a lofted suite on the 31st floor. It provided us with ample room for my husband to "home" office and my teenage daughter to have her own room for hibernating just like at home! The downtown view was gorgeous, especially at night! The location of the hotel couldn't be better. It is in the center of everything downtown Minneapolis, including the Target Center. M Club was very nice, staff was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for 2 nights while on a trip to see the Twins play. Staff was very friendly and the hotel was immaculately clean. Convenient walking distance to Target Field. My only complaint is the amount of street noise that can be heard in the rooms at night.....we were on the 29 floor. If you’re a light sleeper be prepared for the volume. While this noise is not necessarily any fault of the hotel, it kept a 4 from being a 5 for me. Will definitely stay here the next time I visit Minneapolis.
