I stayed here for an overnight business trip. True to the Aloft brand the rooms are smaller than most Marriott but are very nice. Not so good for a business traveler working from the hotel room, but that is not what the brand is for. My biggest issue with this location is the total lack of parking. There are less than 10 parking spots available for this hotel. The hotel should be honest about this and not claim onsite parking when in reality there is none. I parked in the public garage across the street for $16 for my stay. The redeeming quality of this hotel stay was the two ladies that checked me in. They were way super nice and made a not so good parking situation much more palatable. This hotel would only rate 3 stars at the most if not for the great staff. It is within walking distance of most things in the city.

We booked this hotel requesting a quiet room. Totally prepaid. Walked in at 4:30 pm and were given key to a room on 2nd or 3rd floor facing the main street and the stadium. We explained that this was not acceptable. We asked for the manager and we were told that person is off on Saturdays and Sundays. Okay, then where is your supervisor? "Also off on Saturday and Sunday". We have been traveling the world for fifty years, and know well enough that if a place is that poorly run, its not going to get any better. We have definitely written off ALOFT as a brand as a result.

Good Evening, I am sorry that we were not able to meet your request for a quiet room, as we are a downtown property with several major roadways surrounding and a moderate size property which can make it difficult to meet that specific request. I am sorry to read that you checked out and did not stay with us to know if noise was an issue during your stay. Please feel free to contact the hotel and ask to speak with the General Manager, as we would like to hear more of your experience to understand exactly what happened. I can assure that a Supervisor and Manager are on property every weekend, while they may have been off-site at the moment you asked or off at the time- I am sorry you were told they were not.

Spent 2 days at the hotel earlier this month and the staff was great, the overall hotel had a nice vibe, and the location is a perfect launching point for exploring all Minneapolis has to offer. Neighborhood also was safe.

I am visiting Minneapolis on business. I was given a room with double queen beds (reserved a room for 1 person) directly above the lobby looking into the street and stadium. As soon as I reached the room, i turned around and returned to the desk to ask if I could switch rooms. I checked in early and saw other rooms still being cleaned on my floor. The front desk person refused to switch my room simply saying she couldn’t without giving me a valid reason. I offered to check in later etc, but to no avail. The front desk staff just kept saying absolutely no. The next day, I returned to my room in the middle of the day due to a migraine only to discover that the hotel is an active construction zone all day until 3 pm. after two hours of loud construction in the room above I had to go down to the front desk and ask how long the construction would continue and some unhelpful staff eventually said “it usually stops by 3 pm”. They are installing a new camera system and requiring the whole hotel to be rewired. This is hands down the worst and least accommodating hotel I’ve ever stayed at...

Thank you for your comments and overview of your recent stay. I apologize that due to the property being sold out Monday-Thursday of this week we were unable to accommodate your request to move. Several factors such as room type and mobile check-ins are factored into being able to change rooms for guests and at times the hotel is not able to accommodate every request our guests have. I am sorry to hear that you were further inconvenienced due to rewiring of our security systems- as a business that operates 365/24/7 it is difficult to find times in which no guest will be impacted, and therefor from 12PM-3PM is when the time was set to avoid disrupting as many guests as possible. Our entire team hopes you are feeling better.

Hotel determined they were overbooked and canceled my Expedia reservation because they cancel third party reservations first (regardless of when made.) I tried calling Aloft/Marriott reservations - they said they couldn't do anything and I needed to call the property directly. Not alot of corporate pride I see. The property didn't answer the phone - I literally called 6 times in an hour, no response from front desk. Never dealing with Aloft again given the lousy service.
