The building is historic and has a nice observation deck. That being said, I really did not enjoy my time here. No bellmen or doormen to great you or help with bags, front desk staff more interested in having drinks and texting than helping guests, I booked a large suite but found it quite worn, it had a gold velvet couch with lots of stains and a hole, very small closet, no luggage stands, broken blinds in the living room, sink in bathroom didn’t drain, and lots of street noise and elevator noise… be sure to bring ear plugs. Room service took over an hour and when food arrived, it was cold. They had one person doing all room service deliveries for a 30 story hotel, she looked so stressed out and overworked I really felt bad for her. Breakfast not open until 8am, not the end of the world but not convenient for people who have to work on east coast time. Overall it was a lackluster experience at best so I doubt I would ever return.

As a seasoned traveler, I have encountered my fair share of hospitality highs and lows. Unfortunately, my recent stay at The W Minneapolis - Foshay falls into the latter category, leaving me utterly disappointed and disrespected. Any semblance of admiration quickly disappeared when I discovered that my Apple Watch had been stolen from my room - Not sitting out in the open, but unzipped and taken directly from my closed suitcase. The blatant disregard for guest belongings and trust exhibited by the housekeeping staff is simply unacceptable. It's disheartening to think that such dishonesty permeates the very core of this establishment. Despite reporting this immediately to management and the corporate customer service team, with hopes of resolution and assistance; I was met with excuses, lack of concern, and dismissiveness. Not only did they fail to address my concerns with seriousness, but they also attempted to downplay the severity of the situation. Their lack of empathy and unwillingness to take appropriate and professional action only served to fuel my frustration and disappointment. In an industry built upon the foundation of hospitality and trust, The Foshay has demonstrated a profound deficiency in both regards. As a guest who entrusted them with my comfort and security, I expected professionalism, timely action, and proper handling of the situation. Instead, I was met with pure neglect and not a single action to rectify the theft. In more bizarreness, four days after I checked out of my room, the hotel (housekeeping I was told) attempted to place a random watch, that did not belong to me, in the same room. This attempt to replace the stolen item was both inappropriate and unacceptable - Again, this was a completely different watch that did not belong to me, so I can only wonder who the previous guest was in which that watch was likely stolen from. My experience at The Foshay was marred by incompetence, negligence, and a blatant disregard for guest privacy and trust. I strongly advise prospective visitors to exercise caution and reconsider their lodging options. No amount of amenities can compensate for the loss of trust and peace of mind endured during my stay. I hope they keep in mind that I work for Berkley company in which we utilize this hotel frequently - We will think twice before staying at this establishment again. I would advise the same for any guests considering The Foshay as an option.

I loved my (work) stay in Minneapolis. The room was stylish, bathroom was lovely, and the provided toiletries were great. The hotel is connected to an office building with a fantastic coffee shop and the lobby bar is great. I didn't make it up to the bar in the tower, unfortunately. Check-in staff weren't the friendliest but they did the important stuff, ie, check me in/out. The hotel is very close to bars and restaurants and about a 10 minute walk to the convention center.

My boyfriend and I came into town for a Vikings game and this was the perfect spot today. We were a quick walk to the stadium, but also a lot of other great restaurants and cute stores. The observation deck showing panoramic views of Minneapolis was a huge bonus! Also their lobby bar was one of the most fun hotel bars we have ever been to, they even had an in house DJ. Definitely will be staying here anytime we are traveling to Minneapolis.

It's a beautiful, historic hotel, but falls short in a number of easily correctable ways. Wonderful location in the heart of downtown, easily walkable to US Bank Stadium, the convention center, with abundant dining options nearby and Manny's Steakhouse off the lobby. Once the tallest building in the state, there's an open air observation area on the 30th floor providing a bird's eye view of the entire city. The doormen were very welcoming and helpful at every encounter, as were the front desk staff. The room (#204) was nicely appointed but the view was a roof with a wall of HVAC equipment that had a constant humming noise that ear plugs couldn't drown out. Oddly, the bed didn't have a mattress pad on it! The sheet was directly on the mattress which we didn't notice until we woke up the next morning! What?! How could housekeeping not notice this?? Upon checking out, I left my jacket in the room and they seemed completely unconcerned and dismissive about trying to get it back to me, even after multiple phone calls. I expected an entirely different level of service from this type of hotel. Lots of big "misses" with regard to employee training or perhaps it was laziness on the part of employees in key positions .

I switched shrooms three times for random issues. The Australian security guard told me that the rooms are all noisy because they surround the elevator shaft. Total BS. There were two other people in line at the front desk complaining about power outages and things not working properly in their rooms. The employees were new and had no knowledge about basic operations.

This was my third stay at the W Minneapolis in the last 10 years. This third visit, was not as pleasant. The hotel is now dated and shows its age through the furniture, fixtures, and the look/feel of the property from the lobby to the rooms. Even the sheets and towels are showing their age with wear and tear. Simply replacing the towels would help freshen up the rooms. I was also surprised that one of the elevator banks (# 2) had been vandalized with graffiti, but not repaired. I flagged the elevator issue, but it wasn't addressed during my stay. The property needs some love and care. I also raised these issues with Marriott, but I have not received a response for nearly a month.

In a nutshell, we went to the W Minneapolis to see the Foshay Tower Museum and Observation Deck. Despite what is said on the W Minneapolis website (which says the deck is open), it was closed. The museum had NO lighting and no staff to turn on the lights on that floor. It was a very disappointing experience - especially since everywhere it says that the observation deck and museum are open. Anyway....when we arrived at the W Minneapolis, we went into the elevator and pressed the button for the 30th floor. Nothing happened. So, we went to the registration counter of the W Hotel. The staff person told us that the observation deck was not open due to repairs and they did not know when or if it would open again. However, their website indicates that the observation deck IS open - so this was a major disappointment having driven over 45 miles to walk on the observation deck. We were told that the museum was open, and that we could go with the other people on the elevator who also were headed to the museum. By the time we got there, the elevator doors had closed. So, we waited for the next one. So, we tried pressing the button again for the 30th floor. Nothing happened. We went back to the registration desk and the staff person gave us the plastic card we needed to access the floor. Why he didn't give it to us initially is beyond me. At any rate, we went up to the 30th floor and were shocked that when the elevator doors opened that it was completely dark and had no lighting. The people who had gone on the elevator before us said that they wanted to go back down because it was too dark and scary. We wanted to at least see something about the Foshay Tower, so we each used our cell phone flashlights to see the displays. The staff at the W did not mention that there was no lighting or light switches that we (nor could the previous guests) could find. The displays had interesting information that we didn't know about those involved with the construction of it or the court proceedings. It would have been substantially better had the lights been on so we could adequately see and read the displays.

Just don't. I'm so sad and disappointed. I took my BF of two yrs here for.his birthday dinner at Manny's and a stay at the W at the Foshay! I haven't been here in 7 years but thought it would be just as good as the last time. It's a W for crying out loud! First, the valet team and front desk people were all friendly and nice. Thank you for this. The room, clean, comfy bed, decent amenities. I'd give the room a 3. Furniture was uncomfortable and crowded in and two lights did not work. I started writing this before going to bed after a big dinner at the amazing Manny's! The hosts, John at the bar and server David were absolutely spot on awesome! The rest of the trip, isappointing with unbelievably horrible customer service. I am not an unkind person. I I pride myself in being a good respectful customer! No matter what level of service I get. But when you get NO service, no hello, smile nor acknowledgment that you've even walked into an establishment... Let alone two of them in one location, it's disheartening and sad. We live in the suburbs of Minneapolis and came down for 1 cool evening to try to give the city another opportunity to show people that there are businesses that continue to thrive after all of the chaos of the last 3 years. Manny's shined....W not so much. The people working in the property bar/restaurants there should be ashamed. Grow up. Stop chatting amongst each other and pay attention or leave the biz. In 40 minutes we were both upstairs at prohibition and downstairs at the living room. We left it without cocktails. We left without contact from any human being working there. I made eye contact with a server in the living room for at least 2 minutes and she turned around and went another direction!!! There were few customers...maybe 7 at the bar and 6 at tables. Unreal! Prohibition smells like my grandmother's basement of mildew and the people that work there were inconsiderate and way too concerned with their own conversation. Not one Hello but five people looked right at us as we walked off the elevator. Honestly... Manny's and Keys should be sad that they are even connected to this hotel experience. Two legendary great establishments with exceptional service....or they should be happy that the poor experience next door drives people over to them in droves. Westin, I'm sorry but you need an overhaul of the employment and training of anyone working at your location here. Date of experience: May
