Love the good, hot, meals & not cleaning up after eating. The classic XC ski trails are without parallel with the snow covered trees completely canopying the trail in some areas. I can stop at any point on the trails and be in awe of the forest.

Great location. Cross the lake and you are in the National Forest, a winter wonderland. Trails are well groomed for cross country skiing. The staff at NFL are wonderful, including great food. Been there 2 times and planning to go back. Some cabins have running water, kitchens and bathrooms, others do not. But the hot tub and sauna make up...

My wife and I have been skiing at NFL with a large group for the last four years and it is our favorite trip of the year. The trails start right at the resort and are so beautiful. Huge trees like you never see in the cities and they are usually full of snow. They have an outdoor hot tub...

Beautiful setting, gorgeous trails and wonderful visit to the national forest! Will definitely be one of my annual trips going forward. Incredible nature and beautiful backdrop for a nordic ski weekend. Loved the outdoor wood sauna and surprised myself with the polar plunge. I would highly recommend it!

This was my first visit to NFL but it will NOT be my last. The setting is gorgeous, the accommodations cozy and comfortable, the staff friendly, funny, personable, and very helpful, the ski trails superb and beautiful, and snow shoeing was also great. I'll be back in the winter time as well as in the summer and/or fall!

Here's the bottom line: stay here! It's awesome. Andy does an amazing job keeping the cabins in beautiful shape. Hot tub and sauna are great. We were there for skiing and snowshoeing - miles of gorgeous trails right out of the cabin door. Augie serves the best home cooked food and takes great care of even the biggest groups. I'll...

Fantastic trip for the 6th year in a row. Andy, August & Christine took care of us as always. The skiing and snowshoeing was superb! Hot tub, sauna & polar plunge take away all of the aches and pains of the 1st day of skiing to make everyday a fresh start. The Saturday night music was great fun yet again....

MLK Rovers weekend wouldn't have become a super fine reality for 6 years running without you & Rob. Thank you both so much! See you next year. Be well, Andy

This resort is located in a breathtakingly beautiful part of northern MN. The skiing this year is fantastic and every twist and turn offers picture perfect winter scenery. As for the resort, it's clean and well kept. The lodge is warm and inviting. The sauna and polar plunge are a must! The staff is knowledgeable, caring and fun! The food...

The road there was rough, so go during the day. If you are looking for a beautiful, remote place... this is it. The sauna was wonderful. The sauna would benefit from a stronger stove with more rocks. Would return!

Thanks so much! The problem with that sauna is he built it out of log. They take forever to warm up in cold weather. Glad you enjoyed anyway. Thanks again, Andy

Definitely one of the best weekends of the winter. Both the skiing and the lodge were great. Andy was a wonderful host and really made everyone feel welcome. The cabins were very basic, but perfectly comfortable. Augie put together tasty meal after tasty meal. The polar plunge was addicting. Just a great place for a ski weekend.

What a nice surprise to get an NFL ski review with no snow in sight. You made my day! Hope you can make it up again this winter. Thanks much! -Andy
