Detailed Reviews
We stayed three nights to attend a family event in the area. Our room, with king-sized bed, whirlpool tub, and roomy bathroom, was cleaned exceptionally well each day. The hotel was quiet and comfortable. The staff was friendly and efficient. This is a non-smoking hotel.

We stayed at here as a couple prior to a family funeral. The hotel was clean, very quiet, and we were greeted by a clerk with a friendly small town attitude. The breadfast was more that adequate for the two of us with a choice of waffles, oatmal, fruit, yogurt, eggs. etc. Rooms were clean and well kept up.

We stayed at the Country Inn of Hoyt Lakes again, this time over the holidays. Again, the room was exceptionally clean. This time we had a king suite, with a hide-a-bed in a separate room. Both rooms have TVs. The separate room also had an electric fireplace. The hotel was very quiet. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We'll definitely stay there again.

My family and I stayed here one night.
The rooms were very clean, the furnishings and carpet were in great shape. It was very quiet, i.e. very few customers the night we stayed, a Saturday. We had the pool and spa to ourselves both times we used it.
A little pricey for such a small town, but nice option to stay in Iron Range.

Wow, I can't believe this hotel is here in this area of small towns; what a find. It used to be a "Country Inn & Suites by Carlson", but apparently it's now the "Country Inn of Hoyt Lakes", but it seems just as nice to me under private ownership. Sure, it could use some updating here and there, but overall it's 99.9% perfect for me and it's SO peaceful and whisper quiet that I give it two very, very big thumbs up!
My room is nice with a great king-sized bed and great pillows; a nice bathroom with liquid soap dispensers instead of little bars of soap; a mini fridge and microwave, ironing board/iron, hair dryer, everything you'd expect. And, since I work in my hotel rooms a lot, and have the TV on in the background, this hotel has one of the best selection of channels that I've seen in a hotel in months. It's an older tube tv, but it works great. I have the great pool and hot tub area all to myself because there are so few people here this weekend and there hasn't been anyone else in there the whole weekend; nice. They don't have a fitness room here, but any hotel that has a "ski wax room" just has to have enough outdoor recreation activities in the area that you don't need to run on a treadmill; just run on one of the great trails in the area. Giants Ridge ski and golf area is only a few miles away as is the Mesabi Trail, one of the most scenic bike trails in the country.
The breakfast was great with hard boiled eggs, which is always a bonus for some great protein in the morning. They also had 3-4 different kinds of cereals and fruit and coffee / tea / milk / juice, waffles and yogurt. The only thing I wish they had were packets of oatmeal. It's rare for a hotel to not have oatmeal, but overall it was a super variety here.
The lobby is very cool and north-woodsy with animal mounts on the 2-story fireplace and nice furniture and the front desk folks were as nice as they come. I literally can't say enough good things about this great hotel in this beautiful area.

Rode in to Hoyt lakes area on our Snow Gos. You could see the hotel on the hill from the trail. Got a great rate and delicious ginger molasses cookies. The pool and hot tub were very nice and clean. The rooms were comfortable and cozy and clean. The breakfast was fine with quite a few selections. Sue was so friendly helping us with connecting trails and some of the history and businesses in the area. Thank you Sue. You and your hotel are a treasure

I always stay here when I do a summer golf trip. Sue is always willing to match prices from around the area. Rooms are spacious..reasonable. Breakfast could be more in depth. Need more options for breakfast choices.

Friendly staff are very accommodating. 2 floors only with a wide stairway to upper level. Pool and hot tub that are open later for adults. Breakfast bar. Nice lobby sitting area decorated with nature theme. Great for family gatherings, or visiting when skiing in the area. 10 Minutes away from skiing, and 20 to larger shopping. Across from arena if you want to watch the Rangers play.

That is the Water Carnival weekend. Our rates start at $159.95 and you would need to speak with Carol if we have any availability. She works Thursday and Friday from 3pm to 11pm. Because it is such an important weekend, Carol handles all reservations for that weekend
