All though there was renovation going on, the room was nice and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Price was good. Personnel were vet courteous. The elevator was not in operation so we were placed on the first floor.

The lodge was undergoing renovation while we were there. The rooms were nice but the hallways were partly closed off and re-routed. We stayed there two times, four days apart, and the route to the dining room was completely different each time. The location is good, near Grand Portage National Monument and the boat that takes passengers out to Isle... More

Rooms very clean and quiet. Food at restaurant very good and quite reasonable even with the US high exchange rate, Under construction not pleasant but will come to an end. Gas station close by and a discount for cash payments. Charge cards accepted are Visa,MC, Diners club and perhaps another.

Drove into Grand Portage from Duluth thinking there would be plenty of lodging available. HA! This hotel IS the town basically. It's under construction and looks a little shady. 😳 I was kind of concerned as I drove up to the roped off lobby area and walked through to the narrow temporary front desk. 😬 I was greeted by a... Stopped there late this summer and it was under construction. Looked at website today and its still under construction. Website doesn't tell how extensive the construction still is. Hotel and casino were ok but the area wasn't very attractive. If aesthetics are important I would call and check on how far advanced they are in remodeling the Hotel and surrounding... More

We stayed here because it is 5 min. from where you get on the boat to go to Isle Royale. At the end of July when we stayed, parts of the hotel were still under construction. The rooms were finished and were very nice and very clean. We had a King room on the 1st floor. The bed/pillows were comfy.... More

The employees were very helpful and friendly, starting with the security guard at the casino door. He not only gave me directions on where to find the players' club but walked with me to be sure I found the way. The inconveniences were due to the remodeling. The room we had was beautiful, but getting to it was a bit... More

Nice staff and prices. Laundry and bathrooms were also nice. The camp ground is COVERED in goose feces. Unsanitary to say the least. I set my tent up on the driveway to try to avoid it as much as possible. Can't take a step without getting it on your shoe. Needs to be cleaned or not charge to stay there.

Amazing broasted chicken. 3 people in our party had this meal. The chicken was done perfectly. Enjoyed entire meal. Our server, Jeff, was extremely friendly and funny and made us feel comfortable. Prices are reasonable.

The lodge and casino are currently under remodeling - we didn't know that prior. I've stayed before a few years back and can say the remodeling definitely upgrades the hotel rooms. Very modern designs. We stayed in the lake view room with a jacuzzi. We had a kitchen with coffee maker, fridge, sink, and microwave. We had a living area... More

I would like to thank you for taking the time to write such a thorough review and also taking the time to fill out a comment card while you were here, I do read each one and due to your notification I was able to have the fireplace fixed before the next guest would have been inconvenienced. We look forward... More
