Clean rooms and easy parking and walking distance to every restaurant. I have stayed 4 different times in most rooms. Much better than staying in a huge hotel in Minneapolis or suburbs. Haven't had full/hot breakfast yet as off to work at 630 every morning, but plenty of self serve options.

This is a old style frame house at the edge of a charming town on Lake Minnetonka. Dave, the owner, is the perfect host and nothing is too much trouble. Snacks are available 24/7 and there are always two bottles of wine open for the guests to help themselves. We had a suite of rooms on the ground floor, which...

Two "hidden gems" west of downtown Minneapolis: the city of Excelsior and the Birdhouse B & B. Excelsior is a charming village on the shore of Lake Minnetonka filled with interesting galleries, bistros, and friendly people. The Birdhouse B & B is a wonderful place to stay right in the middle of town and a couple of blocks from the...

Wonderful lodging in a building dating to 1858. Great amenities and kind hosts. Loved the town as well. Top Shelf location to enjoy the St. Paul Minneapolis area. We visited in the fall but feel this would be a great place any season of the year.

We had a great stay at the Bird House. There were three of us and we stayed in the cardinal room and added the pheasant room which connects for our 15 year old daughter. It was so cozy and comfortable. Walking to Kowalskis for groceries was a treat and so convenient. Loved Excelsior. Great time had by all. Thanks Dave!

Thank you! Glad you were able to take advantage of the extra bedroom we can add to the Cardinal room to make a nice suite for an extra person or two. Lovely having you here, and we look forward to seeing you again!

This was my first time staying at a B&B and we just had a great experience. Comfortable, friendly, great location and super easy to work with! Our breakfast delicious and fellow guests were just lovely and so fun to meet. I'll keep the Bird Nest in my book of B&B's to revisit! Thank you Birds Nest Inn!

Thanks so much, and glad we could make your first B&B experience a good one - hopefully with many more to come! We love to help make new converts to what we think is a much more pleasant way to stay than a stuffy old hotel. :)

If you have always wanted to stay in one of the oldest homes in Minnesota, on the main street filled with shops, delicious restaurants and only 2 blocks from beautiful Lake Minnetonka, then the Bird House Inn will not let you down. Originally begun in 1858 by James H. Clark, with additions throughout its 158 years, this B & B...

My girlfriend and I have been friends for over 30 years. We finally took a "girls" weekend to relax and enjoy ourselves. This place did not let us down. Very close to shops, grocery, restaurants. Beautifully decorated and very quiet...we enjoyed our complimentary snacks, glass of wine as well as a beautiful room. Lovely visit with the owner and other...

I had a very pleasant stay at the Bird House Inn, the room was lovely and everyone was very nice. The location is great. There are wonderful shops and restaurants nearby. I would definitely like to come back. I was in the Garden room on the first floor.

I planned this visit with friends to celebrate my birthday. I live within 15 minutes of this charming place. It's a Victorian mansion with modern day comforts. It's not a big, splashy hotel. But offers a quiet, personal experience where you can lounge, enjoy snacks and treats at no additional cost, bathe in big comfortable tubs and enjoy the antique...
