This is by far the best place to room in Ely. From A good breakfast to dinner, a nice small bar with views overlooking the lake, a swimming pool for those off weather days, and friendly staff, and clean rooms all in one place. There are cheaper places in Ely to stay, but with

What a relaxing stay at the Grand Ely Lodge. The pool was great. Rooms comfy. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was quiet even with a hockey team staying there. Well kept up and fun. I will stay again!

Thank you for your inquiry. I wish I could tell you when the best time to see the Northern Lights is. (Really depends on the weather.) At times they are visible from the lodge; if not, there are areas nearby where people have caught the best view of them. (Many times that is at 2:00am.) Personally, I've seen them in the fall months, but they also occur in the winter too. Just depends on what Mother Nature is going to throw at us.
