My Airbnb reservation got messed up (site glitch I think) and at the last minute called her to see if they had a room and she did have one! Large room with two bed, windows that open and let the outside breezes in and bathroom separated from the two sink vanity makes it perfect for a family. So we enjoyed this place so much I cancelled the next two nights at the other place we still had reserved. Self-serve coffee and breakfast and two balconies that face the big, beautiful lake. Putting green, boats available and solitude. Wake up to a drop-dead gorgeous Minnesota morning, cool mornings and evenings, and a bar/restaurant open on Friday and Saturday evening. The drive to town in less than 10 minutes and it's a terrific little town - great to walk around, lots of coffee shops and other shops to wander through. A winner of a place and vacation.…
Found this place on Airbnb.com. The resort was tucked beside White Iron Lake. It's a quaint lodge with a Black Forest feel. Our hostess was inviting, even helped us in a pinch. A self-serve breakfast buffet of cereal, muffins, yogurt, and hard-boiled eggs, amongst other assorted breakfast foods. We recommend using the wifi in the hall, since the rooms don't get good reception. If you're looking for a blissfully serene locale, this is it.
We had a wonderful stay at this lodge -- such a peaceful, beautiful location! The room was very clean and spacious. The owner is friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed taking their canoe out to explore the lake. This lodge is a short drive from Ely. The rustic decor is dated, but well cared for and quite charming. Perfect spot for a family or couple. We highly recommend!
The lodge is clean. The staff is friendly. The rooms are comfortable. The grounds are unique and welcoming. Rates were reasonable for the area, time of year and duration of stay. We would stay here again. The location offers convenient access to Ely for shopping and dining. White Iron lake is beautiful. The staff set us up with everything we needed for a fun canoe paddle around the west portion of the lake.
The lodge is beautiful and since the restaurant/bar is only open Thursday-Saturday, our Sunday-Wednesday stay was wonderfully quiet and peaceful! It is a short drive from the east end of Ely and has access to White Iron Lake. We were close to everything and yet far enough away for a quiet and pleasant stay. The room we had was large and the view from the decks is wonderful. I saw deer and vultures from the deck outside of our room.
