This was truly a home. I was by myself, but would be great for couples, families or rent out the whole house for a group! Bed was super comfortable and the linens were soft. I have stayed in many large chain hotels and high end resorts and this was cleaner than most of them! If I get back to Ely, which I truly hope I do, we will stay here! They include breakfast just down the street at Northern Grounds, which was so good I went back for lunch!
What an adorable place! I was in the Indigo Room for two nights. Takes up the entire third floor in an elongated floor plan. All knotty pine. Beautiful craftsmanship! Immaculate and cozy, and very private. Comfy bed, hot hot water, great water pressure. Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Outstanding!
Three of us and two dogs stayed one night in Ely while we were up North to visit the Soudan Mine. This hotel was exactly what we needed. The accommodations are simple and rustic, not fancy, but worth it. We had the Crimson Room, at the front of the house, with direct access to the front porch, where we had a delightful evening drinking, talking, and watching cars and people go by. I think that room might have gotten a bit crowded if we had filled all five beds, but for three of us and the two dogs, it was perfect. The self-check-in process was smooth, just pick up the instruction letter outside the back door and use the lock codes you were given by email. We didn't make too much use of the common kitchen or living room, since we were only there a night, but I can imagine they are very handy for longer stays and good places to hang out with other guests. The location of the hotel is great for exploring the main drag in Ely. You're more on the edge of the central business district, but everything downtown is in walking distance from the hotel. Parking was along the side of the hotel and off the alley in the back. We only had the one car, but I can imagine that when the hotel is full, the parking will be a little hard to come by. No breakfast in the hotel, but we did take advantage of the free pastry and coffee at Northern Grounds coffee shop down the street for hotel guests. Honestly, if we were staying longer in Ely, I'd spend a lot more time in that coffee shop, too. It was legit and looked like it had a substantial nightlife wine menu, too.…
What an adorable place to stay while in Ely. Cute little house that has been set up similar to a bed and breakfast. There isn't a front desk, so check-in/check-out is personless, but was well setup and organized. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and quiet. We loved the living room and kitchen area and enjoyed chatting with some of the other guests while sitting by the fireplace. Bonus perk was the coffee and muffin at Northern Grounds. We will definitely stay here again when in Ely.
Used this for a one night stay in Ely. Nice botique inn that looks newly completed. Well setup, homey knotty pine and clean room. Nice Kitchen area to share if desired. Bonus of Northern Grounds credit for coffee house up the street. Would stay again without hesitation.
Joan was very quick to respond and incredibly helpful. We had to cancel our trip due to COVID-19, and she was very kind and understanding. We will for sure book with her again based on the level of personal service and friendliness we received.
Our room was pretty, quaint and very clean. It was very quiet, even though the Inn is on the Main St. of Ely. The owner/manager was very responsive and flexible with some issues that we had. The bed was very comfortable. There was strong signal, free Wifi and free Netflix and Direct TV. A great value.
This place is amazing! We are already putting together a trip to come back. It feels like home with a kitchen to share with other guests. Although there isn't someone on site the ability to text someone if something is needed is really neat, and we used the recommendation for places to go locally too.
This small hotel runs more like a B&B. There's a furnished kitchen available, a living room with a fireplace, a shelf filled with books.... My room (the Crimson room) wasn't exactly like what I expected - because the photos I viewed when I selected it to book were not all of my room - but it's efficient and fairly comfortable. There's minimal natural light (just a smaller window in an exterior door that is kept locked) and no bedside table or similar small table by the small couch. I happen to be at the end of an extensive summer trip and have a smaller folding table with me that I am going to leave in the room when I check out tomorrow. I'm hoping the owners will leave it for future renters to use. WiFi signal is strong. Netflix and DirectTV are provided for free use. In the morning, a local coffee bakery gives a free small continental breakfast or a $5 credit to those who've stayed here - thus my comment about it being sort of like a B&B. You could cook all of your own meals here in the kitchen, if you wished.…
Not really a B&B - although they do give you 5 bucks credit down at the coffee shop which is just a block away- but a very pleasant place to stay. Beds were comfortable, commons area was clean and you could make coffee anytime you wanted and there was a refrigerator we used to keep our cooler stuff cold overnight. It was actually pretty quiet despite being on the main street of Ely. Not a lot of frills but very clean and very comfortable.
