At Erik's Retreat, the astonishing abilities that young adults with autism possess are celebrated. We turn these abilities into employment opportunities where this deserving population gets to share something they are passionate about with others while earning a living wage, working on their social skills, and having the dignity of living life on their terms. We encourage the entire community to support our mission by either staying with us as guests or participating on an Erik's Minnesota Adventures tour. Our purpose is to expose all that those with autism can do versus what they cannot with our moderately-priced guest rooms and tour pricing.

I support the mission of Erik's Retreat, and we had a nice stay there a few years ago, but the hotel now needs some work. The queen mattress in our room was terrible, with a trough in the middle making for a lousy night's sleep. The HVAC in the room was ineffective - turning on the air had no affect on the room temperature. The windows open, but then you have noise from the freeway. The carpet in the room is pulling away from the floor, which is a trip hazard, particularly in the middle of the night. With self check-in and no front desk, there is a feeling that there is no on-site staff. I was asked to text a number when we were in our room, which I did and I quickly received a reply. I texted about the HVAC problem, though, and did not receive a reply.

My fiancé and I came in for the OSU v. Minnesota football game and stay at Erik’s Retreat. SUPER find! Incredibly unique. Safe area. Very homey and clean. We ventured away for the most part, but there are things in the area that you can go to. It feels like a residential area though. Has an apartment type feel. We really enjoyed it!

A “distinctive” lodging options with some downsides. The rooms are spacious and quiet. What they don’t tell you until you book the room: Parking is off-site and a block or more away. Not an ideal situation for seniors with mobility issues. There is no microwave. No ice. TV is not cable, so be prepared for local broadcasts and limited options. No towel bars. Not a single one. Toilet paper felt like crepe paper, only thinner. Lodging is in the MSP flight path, and the windows and exterior walls are not insulated against noise. There are odor eliminators placed in strategic locations in the room, presumably to eliminate objectionable odors…from what, who knows? ( It was once an assisted living facility.) The HVAC is very, very poor. Other than that? Not bad. Don't let the room size fool you. We will not be staying again.

Good location. Nice furniture and finishes. Clean room. Easy check in. The foyer had a bit of a smell but the room was nice and fresh. It was a good experience overall and nice to be helping out in a way as well.

Erik’s Retreat is a hidden gem in the Edina/Richfield area. Our room was large, beautifully appointed, and comfortable. A delicious continental breakfast was brought to our room exactly as ordered and right on time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back again!

We had a wonderful stay. Our suite was clean and cozy, with everything we could've needed. The building is fascinating and in a quiet neighborhood, but not too far from dining and entertainment. Will definitely stay again.

This place is a true gem and I encourage readers to book a room here. Check in is between 3-5 pm and check out is at 11:00. They serve a breakfast to your room between 6:30 and 8:00 am. PLUS it's super quiet as the rooms are not your typical hotel room. I will stay here from now on when visiting MN
