My husband and I spent this last weekend at Pier B. This was our first visit to this hotel. We rode our bikes from Jay Cooke and felt re-assured that our bikes would be safe locked outside the front doors with a bolt lock. However, on the morning we were leaving, we found out that my husband's bike was STOLEN. When we complained to the front desk, we were told that camera's are outside the building but not directly on the bike station and while its been in the works to have overhead lights installed, this has not occurred yet. We filed a police report but I am sure we will not even see my husband's bike again. We than needed to figured out how to get back to our car with all of our gear and my bike. The hotel did provide us a shuttle but we are beyond disappointed. Had we been told the area was not safe, we would have kept our bikes in the room. Its so hard NOT to feel violated and while those at the front desk were sympathetic, is was obvious they did not care either. We are honestly unsure we will even return. We liked the hotel but its NOT safe. There were weddings two of the three nights we were there. The first night was terribly loud. We called down to the front desk at 1030pm and we were told that the wedding party was booked until midnight and while they could ask to turn the music down? They could not guarantee quiet hallways until after midnight.…
I stayed here for two weeks and I am so glad I was able to call this place my home away from home for two weeks. Everyone that works there has a smile on their face and are helpful and polite. The premises are clean and modern. Quiet too! The first room I stayed in was 442. It was a corner room with one window facing the marina and one window facing the Duluth sky line. The second room I stayed in was 312. Perfect view of the lift bridge. Stunning. Their breakfast system is on point. I had zero hiccups the entire time. The breakfast menu had a good variety of items. I enjoyed the water dishes and treats in the lobby area for the dogs. There were plenty of dogs staying there while I was there and never heard a dog barking ow whining. I also enjoyed the S’more set up they have. At 7 PM each night you can go down and grab a s’more package and head out to one of their many fire pits and make yourself a treat. There are about 7-8 fire pits set up outside and makes for a perfect evening watching the boats, having a drink and being outside. The pool area was nothing special but at least they have one. The hot tub outside was busy every night but that was to be expected. I would highly recommend this place.…
Our first time back to Duluth in 3 years. Pier B was quiet. We had no issues with crowded elevators, restaurant, out door areas. Our 'take out' breakfast was good, we had the dining room to ourselves. You might want to come a bit before your appointed time as our food could have been a bit hotter.
This was our second year staying at pier B. We love it so much we have already booked for next year. Shoot out to all of staff, restaurant, bar, etc they were always friendly and accommodating. Special callout to Mary and Cass (sp?) at the front desk. They were super friendly and always had a positive attitude. Loved talking to them every day during our stay. The hotel is within walking distance to canal park which is a plus. Rooms are clean and updated. Restaurant has a good menus and love the outdoor fire places.
Very welcoming staff. Beautiful views. Comfortable rooms. Beds are firm. Could use microwaves and improved toiletries. Enjoyed the kcup machine and coffee. Restaurant was excellent. Lots of activities including fire and smores. Hot tub and pool are were nice. Many uninvited guests joined us. Some conversations were better than others but security worked hard to monitor. The cleaning staff worked hard to keep public areas disinfected. Housekeeping is by request only. The aquarium is next door. Short walk to the entertainment district. Electric scooters and shuttle services available. We will be back. Great long weekend getaway for the family.
This was our first stay at Pier B and we will not return. Canal Park hotels are much better - nicer, closer to the action, and they have much better views of Lake Superior than Pier B. The only good thing about Pier B is their restaurant. Otherwise, it was not a good experience. I can imagine this would be a good location during Bentleyville, but not any other time. The room smelled like a nursing home, and the bathrooms are trying to be trendy, but just fail. Sliding door that doesn't lock, no door on the shower, smells bad. Stay in Canal Park instead.
The people that work there are great. Great check-in. Very inviting room was nice and access to the patio was beautiful. Visited the bar and had amazing service and great drinks. The fried cheese curbs were a favorite. Then the outdoor hot tub was so dangerous. Lucky a guy warned us and helped us get out safely. The area was total ice and so slippery. I've been to many of these and never experienced this before. We stayed for 2 days and nobody emptied our garbage or refilled coffee and cups or fresh towels. They have an amazing shuttle driver who made going to other places easy and fun. The food was good as well. Pretty expensive to stay with no cleaning service. Will be looking for someplace for next year. Too bad as the employees were so nice and friendly.
First- Duluth is beautiful Second- Pier B goes above and to make your stay amazing! The best part about Pier B, is their staff. Talk to Mary. She helped with our reservation. Not only did she make sure that our stay would be perfect, but she told us which places we may like , based on what I told her we liked. Their shuttle will get you around town so you can enjoy a few adult beverages if you'd like and of course they will get you back safely . I can't say enough about Pier B. Mary, you are an amazing asset to this industry !
Almost perfect but the bed wasn’t up to pare. For a high end and new resort I expected at the very least comfort in a bed. We stayed in the king mini suite corner room. The bed wasn’t much better than a rent by your place. My husband, who can sleep on rocky ground, wasn’t comfortable either. It actually aggravated my back. It was slightly saggy, hard and had zero quilt top. The sound, decor, amenities, location, room layout and just about everything else was phenomenal. The view was perfect. We kept the blinds open at night to watch the bridge. We did the grab and go breakfast at $10.95 per person was tasty and worth it. It is apparently the go to destination for weekend weddings. There were several each day we were there. Which meant the outdoor hot tub got busy in the evenings. The fire pit area as lovely though we didn’t have time to use it. They have individual s’mores kits to purchase. Or bring your own. Honestly I’d go back, and soon, if they got different beds. Until then, no. It was that bad. The pillows were comfy. The bed. No. I’m not sure if the non king beds are a different model. But ours was indeed a king.…
We decided to stay at Pier B Resort to be close to downtown and have a good view of ships in the Duluth canal. The staff was friendly and attentive. Restaurant on site was good. Many amenities on site bikes, pool, hot tube, fire pits and plenty of space to hang out. Our room was comfortable and with plenty of room. Easy access to Lake Walk path. We would definitely stay again!
