We made a New Year’s Eve run to Duluth to see family. Immediately, my family in Duluth reserved a room for us at the Solglimt. Immediately upon arrival, we were greeted as if we were family. We slipped our shoes off and entered a wonderfully comfortable home the Mary and Brian share with others. The home has a wonderful history...

Came for an extended "last snow of the winter" weekend getaway. Expected to spend all of our time outside XC skiing and snowshoeing and enjoying Duluth's nightlife, but absolutely loved the hosts and our stay at Solglimt, and found ourselves lingering over breakfast and happy to be back a little earlier in the evening than expected. The place is so...

Highly recommend the upgraded suite with a view of the lake. We watched the ore boats in/out of the harbor on a cold evening. These folks know how to run a BNB. The room was well appointed and the breakfast was superb if not a bit over the top for casual vacationers. Couldn't take advantage of the outside decks on...

Eleven houses from the lift bridge makes it easy to walk to Canal Park. Right on the Superior beach with beautiful views of the canal. The house is a mix of modern and traditional. The breakfasts were delicious. The rooms are top notch. We were in the Lakeview Room which has high ceilings with a ceiling fan and lovely walk-in,...

From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcomed and at home. We were greeted by name and asked how we had been over the past 10 years. Our room was the Lake Superior Suite. It overlooked Lake Superior and we were able to see the canal and the lift bridge from our room also. Our room was...

What a beautiful B&B right on Lake Superior and within walking distance to Canal Park on the other side of the Aerial Lift Bridge. We stayed in the Lake Superior Room with a grand view of Lake Superior. We watched a lightning storm out over the lake which was magnificent. There is a wonderful steam bath in the shower in...

We have never stayed in Duluth overnight before. We choose Solglimt Bed & Breakfast based on location and online reviews. We could not have made a better choice. The location on Minnesota Point, just over the Aerial Lift Bridge was perfect. One can easily walk to many Port attractions and restaurants. But the best part is the B&B itself. It...

Spent our 31st anniversary at this lovely B&B right on the shores of Lake Superior. This is our second visit for an anniversary celebration. The owners, Mary and Brian are really wonderful, friendly people who seem to really enjoy their guests. Our room was super clean, the bed amazingly comfortable and the view from the picture window is spectacular! Mary...

One of the best B and B's we have staying in. These folks have thought of all your possible needs and designed a room that fits perfectly. We had a view overlooking the most beautiful well tended gardens and the Big Lake. The bed was wonderful, just right with lights to read on both sides. The bathroom was spectacular.

This was my second stay at Solglimt, and it never ceases to impress me. We stayed in the Aerial Bridge suite this time and I loved the room. From the king sized bed to the amazing view to the really unique 3 level shower (hard to describe, but very cool), this was an excellent room. Brian & Mary are great...
