Nice spot, loved watching the ships come and go. Breakfast was plentiful and lots of other options nearby as well. Well staffed. Pro tip: rooms ending in 34 are on the stairwell, signs are up to request people are quiet but it's still audible in the bedroom area of the suite. Solved for us with some white noise, could be an issue for light sleepers.

Perfect location! Right by the lake and the lift bridge. In the Canal Park area with restaurants, shopping and boat excursions within a short walk. Great rooms and helpful staff. Good breakfast in the mornings. Very satisfied with my stay. The hotel is called the Lift Bridge Lodge. I didn't see Comfort Inn or Ascend signs, which initially threw me off

The good: location (Canal Park off the Lake Walk), breakfast and the view from the breakfast room) and clean room The bad: elevator broken, noise. We were on the second floor and could hear every step the people above us took. Make sure you stay on the 3rd floor!

The room was cozy and welcoming. The view was perfect of the lake & the lighthouses. Breakfast was great. The staff did a great job of making you feel welcomed. We had 10 foot waves coming in. It was awesome. Then Saturday the ships came in after the storm. We love coming to Duluth, MN twice a year. Always a great time & something new to do.

Hotel room is clean, great location and the breakfast is fantastic! There were plenty of options to chose from, two employees working full time to clean and restock. This is not your typical hotel breakfast, this hotel actually tries to serve a hot fresh breakfast. Room was comfortable and the AC worked great to keep the room nice and cool. Love this hotel!

This clean, comfortable, charming hotel is the perfect place to stay and enjoy Duluth. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is within easy walking distance of dining, shopping and the harbor. It was hard to leave.

This is a 1 star hotel with a 4 star view. Skip this hotel and find one that is quieter, maybe further away and walk along the canal to get a better view. . The hotel is not worth the money even for its location. There is no padding on the carpet floors which means your every step sounds like a loud boom from above. This is the clientele that lets kids run down the halls, people have loud conversations outside your room at all hours, slam doors, and generally lack hotel etiquette. Amenities are grossly lacking, the check-in is slow the staff at breakfast complains about how much they hate their jobs, the a/c unit doesn’t run properly, and the refrigerator screams all night long. Give this one a pass. There are better hotels in this area. Try Pier B

Room Tip: It’s loud. Be prepared. Walls and floors thin. Kids all over yelling. Wi-fi is iffy at best.

I booked a king suite with a lake view, Balcony & Hot Tub for $487.00 per night. We arrived at 2:30 PM and they said I did not get here early enough So we did not get that room, they gave us a ground floor room with a patio and parking lot view

Overall, was satisfied with the hotel but not sure it would be my first choice if I returned. Pros: location right on the Canal walkway and close to the Lift Bridge and DECC, friendly & helpful front desk staff, kitchen area clean, always hot coffee and cold lemon water in the lobby, pool seemed nice but busy with kids. Adult swim from 10pm - 12am was a bit late for us. Cons: room on the 2nd floor very noisy overhead (one night seemed like a bowling alley above us) and I understand you need to walk in your room but every footstep was like big foot had checked in above us. This led to some sleeplessness. There is also a musty, dirty feet sort of smell - maybe from the room carpets - had to leave windows open to make it bearable.

Great location! Walkable to so many restaurants, shops and activities. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was clean. There were two things that other guests may want to know… 1. It is the Lift Bridge Hotel. So it is right next to the Lift Bridge. If you are a light sleeper, be aware that when a ship approaches the entrance to the Duluth Harbor, it blows its very loud horn. The lift bridge operator then blows back and a short “conversation” ensues. On the two nights we stayed there, we had ships arriving between 10 pm -midnight and starting up again about 5:30 am. The sound is muffled by the thick window glass and most can sleep through it, but the light sleepers cannot. 2. If you are a tea drinker, bring your own tea bags. The breakfast buffet has Lipton. I know! LIPTON! The lowliest dregs of the Tea World! Why an expensive hotel that touts itself as luxurious would serve Lipton tea is beyond me. At least get some Twinings in there! And there are no nearby coffee shops that serve good tea either. So bring your own. The hot water on the buffet was hot enough to brew a proper cup of tea. I just didn’t have good tea with me.
