Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was great. Walking distance from most restaurant and the views to the lake was beautiful! We saw the sun rise and it was beautiful! We will be back! Thank you for the view!

Well situated hotel for a weekend birding trip to Duluth. Easy to go east up Hwy 61 towards Two Harbors and Superior Nat'l Forest, or west over to Sax Zim Bog. And the Canal/Harbor is right there too. Room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. Didn't really

Thank you for the wonderful review! So glad you enjoyed your stay with us. I do apologize about the noise from the teams. We do our best to keep the noise down. Even when a group that size is being quiet it tends to be loud. Thank you again for your review!

The Hampton Inn/Duluth is ideally located for my work in photography. I like the fact they'll make a sack lunch for you if one needs to get going before 6 AM in the morning. The comp breakfast is outstanding; the dining space looks right out to Lake Superior.

I am so sorry that my front desk agent swiped your card prior to your cash payment being received. I have corrected the agent's information so that it will not happen to anyone else. As for the money that was being held on your card, it was only an authorization not a charge but it does hold the money aside until you check out. The agent who you spoke to in order to get the authorization released was quick to offer assistance once she was informed of the problem it would cause waiting the standard 72 business hours. I did feel she was diligent and professional in helping you with your situation. However I am sorry you had to involve your bank, I certainly understand how frustrating this can be for all sides. Please accept my personal apology for our short comings and I hope this will not keep you away from our beautiful city.

Just finished a 6-day stay and overall I was happy with the stay. Location as noted by others is very good although the weather wasn't the best at the time. There's plenty of restaurants and bars/breweries in walking distance and the lake is right out the door. The hotel

Thank you for your wonderful review. You are right, our food is heated by microwaves due to MN requirements. Hampton does dictate what we can serve and how. We do have an exciting new breakfast coming in 2019! Our new breakfast will include smoothies! As for upgrades we do what we can. We have 103 guest rooms but only 9 suites. Even though we may not be full, it may have something to do with what type of beds you reserved or that we had to many Diamond members and not enough upgrades available. Especially in the off season, all of our Corporate guests stay with us and a large majority of them are Diamond members. I do apologize about the gym. When we were built 20+ years ago, there was not the focus on healthy living as there is today. Though we do not have dumbbells we do have the weighted balls, yoga mat, exercise ball and trampoline style platform for exercising. Thank you again for your kind review!

I am not sure of the timeline on the renovations, although I would suspect they are complete by now. We were there at the end of October and they were getting close then. It was a wonderful place to stay and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

We are doing some repair in the solarium right now but no plans for renovations in the summer. We generally keep that for the fall season when we are not so busy during the week. So YES come visit us, we love to have you here!

What is the square footage of the rooms with 2 queen beds? Thanks!
The square footage of our rooms with 2 queens varies slightly depending on the room, ranging from 216-240 sq. feet for the "bedroom" only. With the entry and bathroom included, total sq. footage would range from 288-312 sq. feet. Thanks for the question!

Hi, are the in room Jacuzzi tubs for 1 person or can 2 use it?
Hello Angie, Thank you for your question. We have 9 rooms with in-room hot tubs, all with a lake view. While the rooms themselves differ slightly from one another, the hot tubs in all of the rooms are built for 2 people. If you have any other questions, please let me know! Lorri Drake General Manager

"I'd get rooms at both ends of the long halls because the walls and doors are thin."
"my family enjoyed watching the huge waves crash against the shore from our room so I would say that a lake view room is worth it."
"Ask for a lakeview room - there is a $10 upcharge, but definitely worth it!"
"Ask for lake side"
"Book a room on the Lakeside!"
$122 - $329 (Based on Average Rates for a Standard Room)
