Modest place and small rooms but away from downtown, next to the Willard Munger Trail and across from the Lake Superior Zoo, for which the motel supplies free tickets. Family operated. Includes continental breakfast. Excellent price.

Nice folks working here but we found the place pretty run down. The carpet, sofa, bed were old and ready for the scrap pile. But everthing worked and we got by. Nice to be so close to the trail for biking and easy drive into town for dinner.

We stayed at the Willard Munger Inn this past weekend. What a great place to be near the City of Duluth! Within feet of the Willard Munger Trail, A brief walk to the Superior Duluth Zoo and only two miles to Spirit Mountain! The motel/Inn is older and it has the old pine walls. Jeff Munger runs the Inn. He...

An older motel, but well maintained and quite comfortable. Family owned with above-average breakfast, nice fluffy towels, and easy access to I-35. Located on Grand Avenue, which is newly paved, directly across from the zoo. Free bikes and free passes to the zoo available.

Don't let the web pics fool you. Room was barely bigger than the bed with cinder block walls. They had ziplock bags of French Toast for breakfast. I've been in jails with more charm. People were nice.

The staff that was working the night that we checked in (7/4/16) was so helpful! He showed us on a map, the best places to watch the fireworks (we stayed over 4th of July). When we got to our room it was clean, cozy and decorated tastefully. We stayed in a Queen room, perfect for the 2 of us. The...

This is the second time we have stayed at William Munger Inn, and we will be back. The proprietors are wonderful, always nice and welcoming. The rooms are simple and clean, not pristine. The breakfast is simple, but good. Fruit, waffles, cereal, coffee, etc. it is right next to the William Munger Trail, which is awesome, and they have bikes...

I wouldn't really call it an Inn more like an old fashioned roadside motel with perks. Room was fine nothing special but with your stay you get the free zoo pass, use of bikes (and the trail is right behind the motel) and if you ask use of a kayak on the water. The continental breakfast had more items than...

We interacted with helpful, friendly staff at the front desk. Our room was small, but clean and comfortable. A continental breakfast included cereal, toast, and fruit, as well as coffee, tea, and juice.
