Great old building, very comfortable and Sean, the Innkeeper went above and beyond to accommodate any possible need we might have. He is a delight to communicate with and thinks of every little detail in advance. Great wrap around porch to enjoy while enjoying the evening wine and cheese while listening to the rain. Highly recommend this gem!

My husband and I decided to try Duluth in the summer after making a family trip in mid-winter a couple of years ago. We were so pleased to be able to book a room in the magnificent Olcott House! We were warmly greeted by our host, Sean (so many spellings of that name that I am probably wrong here). After... More

Beautiful bed and breakfast! Delicious breakfast! BUT.....if you want hot water for a bath, shower, or just to wash your hands you have to WAIT 20-30 minutes for the water to "warm up"! More reading materials would have also been welcome in our room. Probably won't return.

We came to Duluth especially for staying at the Olcott house an architecture delight for 2 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The B & B's owners were not there, as they are transitioning to other endeavors. John and Catherine were superb hosts on a temporary basis. The breakfast was gourmet in nature and seconds were offered. The wine and chocolates... More

If ever you have any reason to come to Duluth, you have to find a way to stay at the Olcott House Bread & Breakfast Inn. In fact, coming to this beautiful Georgian mansion might be reason enough to come to Duluth. We stayed for two nights last week and absolutely loved this place. In short, this is literally one... Wife and I were here for 3 nights last month. Had a great time and were bowled over by this historic mansion. So much of the home is still in its original splendor. Also enjoyed walking through the neighborhood and looking at similar homes. Very easy to get downtown from here, and could walk down hill to a nice restaurant... More

We spent the night here on our anniversary trip to Duluth. We had a great time and stayed in the Lester River Master suite. Our host did a great job of letting us know of great places around to sight-see and have dinner. The breakfast was really good, it was an Egg Roulade and yogurt parfait. We had a great... More

The Olcott was nice. We stayed in the carriage house, which was wonderfully private aned set up well. Unfortunately the bed was lacking, a full-size that was past it's prime...a bit saggy. The water pressure was weak and hot water took a long time to come. The owners weren't there, so history and personable atmosphere was lacking. Lots of potential,... More

This was our first time at this bed and breakfast in Duluth. The location was good, the neighborhood was quiet. There was no off street parking so the guests parked on the street. The house is beautiful, nicely furnished but a bit cold feeling. The hostess was not able to answer questions about the house, instead referred us to the... More
