My wife and I stayed here a few years ago and stayed in the Daisy Suite which is a great room. Most people have already said how helpful the owners are which is true. It is a truely beautiful house and the amenities are great. Lots of games, books, etc. 2 things I would've liked to know ahead of time... More

We just spent a lovely 2 nights in the Daisy Suite after Thanksgiving 2011. This was our second time to the Ellery House, the first was about 10 years ago. Not much has changed, but that's not a bad thing. I chose the Daisy Suite because we have been to Duluth so many times that I knew we'd want to... More

Tastefully restored home with nice amenities - very warm, clean, and especially welcoming. Perfectly located - close to Superior Street, Canal Park, access to trails, the scenic road (61), etc. Jim received us and provided exceptional suggestions. Without being overbearing or intrusive, Jim was a great host. We enjoyed the privacy of the facilities and the fabulous breakfast - fresh... More

This B&B exceeded our expectations! Jim is probably one of the most kind people I have ever met and the hospitality there is just incredible. Our room was wonderful. Since we went later in the year (november) there were no leaves on the trees so we had a great view of the Lake. It's very close to everything you need... More

I was beginning graduate school in Duluth and stayed at the Ellery for 3 trips, for a total of 9 nights, while looking for a permanent place to rent in Duluth! Jim & Joan are the most knowledgable hosts one could ask for. They seem to know every detail of the area and are most gracious as well. Breakfast was... More

My DH and I stayed at Ellery House B & B September 25 & 26, 2011. This B & B is an 1890's Victorian with beautiful woodwork and decor and although it doesn't have the shine and polish of a newly renovated B & B you will not find a more friendly or welcoming host and hostess than Jim and... More

In mid-August 2010 (the date listed via drop down menu is inaccurate, but doesn't go back far enough), we visited Duluth on a research trip to the North Shore and to see Split Rock Lighthouse. We only had two days to squeeze as much seeing and doing in as possible. We chose The Ellery House based on the reviews provided... More

Jim and Joan were hospitable and kind. People rave about "southern hospitality" but I think these Yankees are on to something. Breakfast was absolutely delightful and the suites were gorgeous. They did an amazing job decorating and keeping the house (built in 1890!) up. I recommend for anyone and everyone!!!

I have to mention the breakfast was wonderful and elegantly prepared. We had an egg souffle with strawberry rhubarb muffins, fresh fruit platter and great coffee. The inn was decorated with beautiful antiques which were comfortably arranged. Our room the Ellery Suite was spacious and the beds were very comfortable and luxurious. We completely enjoyed our stay and felt extremely... More

We were in Duluth for a friend's wedding and decided to stay at the Ellery due it its gorgeous online presentation and affordable prices. It was our first time to MN and we loved every minute of it. Why anyone would chose to stay at a hotel over a bed and breakfast is beyond me, especially when you have the... More
