My father ended up in the Detroit Lakes ER during a hunting trip because of a kidney stone. When he was released, he was too ill to be able to make the drive home to Minneapolis, so we headed to AmericInn for the night. We were treated so kindly. The staff went out of their way to make him as... More

Very nice condition in the more modest price hotel area. The room is clean and well kept. Not fancy but just fine. We have two rooms. The first is a king room. I do like the bathroom sink being outside the shower area. Makes it easier fro two to get ready in the morning. The salsa and chips at night... More

Up to 15 colleagues and I stay here each fall and I must say that it's a place we look forward to - especially in the midst of so many awful places in the area. The owner, Ron (I believe that's correct) shows such care with the property, and his work ethic and pride is reflected in his excellent and... More

We made reservations months in advance for 2 adjoining rooms for 4 adults and 5 children. Grandma, Aunt, mom and dad and our 5 children. When we travel, we always get adjoining rooms for safety ( so the little ones do not have to go out into the hallway to go between the two rooms) and ease of going back... More

Spent one night at the Americinn prior to a relative's wedding over Labor Day Weekend. The room was spacious, the pool area clean and plenty of area to spread out and relax after a long drive. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were quiet. Breakfast was ample and got us through to lunch.

The staff here are so friendly and accommodating! I was in town to run one of the Dick Beardsley races with my sister. When I checked in, the wonderful woman at the front desk informed me that the continental breakfast, which normally opens at 6:00 am, would be available starting at 4:30 am so that the runners could eat but... We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past 4 years. I have to say that the renovations are very nice. That being said, we have had better visits in the past. This hotel has always been clean and friendly. This trip was a bit disappointing. Although still clean, we had one day where our room wasn't cleaned... More

I travel throughout Greater Minnesota frequently for work and always stay at AmericInn. Their hotels are consistently clean and modern, with friendly staff and a decent breakfast. The Detroit Lakes AmericInn is no different. This is a good place to stay, conveniently located.
