Our double was pretty large and comfortable. The shower worked and the price reflected that breakfast is dehydrated porridge to which you can add water from the kettle. Ingenious and labour-saving but don't expect a full English. We sleep cold at home and so found this room pretty hot - indeed heated by a pipe passing under the floor - so we had to have the window open and contend with the road noise. If you don't eat breakfast and like a warm cosy room this would work well for you.

I have passed this place on many an occasion but never stopped to investigate. This particular Sunday we decided to try Sunday lunch. The place is interestingly decorated with an impression on farmware as in the comfortable area just inside the entrance the farm equipment is up for debate as to what it is. It is a brilliant place to have a relax and coffee after your meal or just to relax with a coffee anyway. The restaurant was quite busy and the wife started off with a Prawn Cocktail, I didn't want a starter I have fell for this before and then you get a huge lunch that you struggle with. I have to admit though her Prawn Cocktail did not look very appetising and to put it in a nutshell she sent it back saying 'I don't like the look of it' it wasn't a problem. We both ordered the Topside of Beef and I have to admit it was astonishing. There was three seasonal veg, homemade Yorkshires, roast and mash and a good sized plateful it was too. The meal was absolutely amazing, the beef was so tender and succulent and I was right by the time I had finished I was full to bursting. Sunday lunch at £10.95 is a bargain but the beer which was Peroni was £4.95 a pint, a little expensive for this part of the country but very nice all the same. The staff were very polite and helpful and the overall experience was very good and we will certainly be experiencing this again and again. We retreated to the relaxing room for coffee to finish off our Sunday afternoon and both arrived home more than satisfied with our experience.

Found Beckett Arms on a quick search when in the area. We immediately liked the place for it's decor but then you should judge somewhere by the chairs or curtains, however, on this occasion it all came together. The staff were welcoming and greeted us in a lovely cheery manner. Being a Sunday the menu reflected what looked like a traditional Sunday roast but there were a few other items and we went for the vegetarian option - we were not disappointed - both dishes were delicious. The following week, being the area again, we couldn't resist a return visit..... Super stuff! Same cheery staff and this time we had the meat option, beautiful pork loin and a steak and red wine pie. Lovely veg, lovely yorkshire, lovely gravy and too full for pud. We'll be back to try that!!

We are staying here as we have a track day at near by Blyton Park tomorrow and the was recommended by the circuit owners so we have booked 7 rooms for the team The staff have made us very welcome and the food was outstanding. We will definitely be returning and look forward to staying here again. All the rooms have tea and coffee making facilities with bath shower etc. They also have a large carpark that one of our guys has easily parked his car with trailer in. All in all a nice place 👍

This place used to be my favourite place to go for Sunday dinners but then it shut for refurbishment for a very long time so was disappointed that we had to find somewhere else to eat but now it has reopened it has soon become one of our favourites again, staff are friendly and prices are good for what you get.
