My husband and I went to the Viking lodge 18 years ago for our 2nd anniversary. This time, we decided to return and celebrate our 20th Anniversary at the Inn with our 2 boys (ages 11, 13) , family, friends, and small dog. Our group ages ranged from 2 years old to grandpa. Two families flew in just for this weekend.... More

My husband and I stayed here for a little weekend get away. It was us and 1 other couple. We had a great time. Steinar is an amazing host and kept us laughing the whole time we were there! He is definitely outgoing and out to keep his guests having a good time. His humor can be dry/crude/political etc but... More

My husband and I went here to celebrate our anniversary. We were very excited about the theme and prepared to roll with some quirks. Instead of an enjoyable escape, I ended up storming out in tears. The owner spent all of dinner ranting at us (drunkenly, according to his friend who was there). It stated out as bad jokes and... More

I've seen Steinarr a couple times on the Travel Channel about five years ago, and I've been dying to go to his Inn ever since. Even though we were his only guests on Father's Day 2015, he spent all the time we wanted to spend with him and his Great Dane Thor. I expected him to be like he was... More

This may be the greatest place I've ever stayed. The hospitatlity is one of a kind, the food was phenominal, and the laughs and merriment never ceased. I would recomment this place to anyone who likes to eat, drink and be merry. If these 3 things don't appeal to you, then you need to see a surgeon to remove that... More

I cannot say that I have spent a weekend away from home that was as memorable as this last weekend. My spouse and eight of my nieces, their husbands and boyfriends just spent the last weekend at the Nordic Inn. We met Stinarr at the Little Falls craft fair last September and thought this would be a fun way to... More

I first met Steinarr while tailgating at Minnesota Viking games in the late 1990's and he would tell me about the concept he was creating. A Viking Castle Bed and Breakfast with interactive dinner theatre and an experience that would create memories for all participants. I was skeptical until I finally saw the place for the first time. Steinnar had... More

This was to be a surprise for my daughters 30th birthday. Being of Nordic descent and theater geeks, how much better could it get! Unfortunately what was presented on the website and what actually happens are two very different things. Steinarr is the host/owner of the place so when I was setting up reservations we got a chance to chat... More

It's not fair that I had to average out this review to 3 dots, but the place is such a bi-polar tornado of trite kitsch, and weird-fantastic, it's all I could think of. This stay was the crown Jewel of this years vacation for my wife and me...a trip to the North Woods in autumn and a night in the... More
