Welcome to Camp Laurent – Camping exclusively for adults. We have created a small rural campsite that is just for grown ups. The site is nestled in 8 acres of beautiful countryside, just on the outskirts of St-Laurent-de-Ceris. The campsite has 400m of river frontage, where you canoe or fish at your leisure, which forms part of the River Charente and was described by King Henry IV and King François I as “The most beautiful stream in France". We have plenty of space to kick back and relax in this peaceful beautiful location. We have all new modern facilities and spacious luxurious bathrooms for you to use. Our pool can be enjoyed in a quite and sunny location while enjoying the lovely view and watching the butterflies that often visit us here. The village of St Laurent de Ceris is only 4kms away and offers a lovely Bar/Resteraunt as well as a local shop and Boulangerie.

This was our third holiday at Camp Laurent and during our two week stay we met several other guests who were there for the second or third time. This speaks volumes about the attraction of this very special camp site. The owners, Tracey and Pete, are friendly, hospitable and helpful. The site is a large, gently sloping field with only ten very spacious pitches, set in the heart of the beautiful Charente countryside. The small, but well-maintained, swimming pool is blissfully cool and refreshing, particularly on those hot mid-summer days. Excellent WiFi provision and lots of shady areas in which to "chill-out". Being in such an ideal rural location the site is teeming with wildlife - deer, various birds of prey and bats can sometimes be seen or heard. The bathrooms are immaculately clean and the facilities are excellent. This really is a haven of tranquility for discerning adults.

We stayed for 8 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. Peace, no children screaming and clean bathrooms. We will come back. The only annoying thing would be the lady with the lilo not ideal in a shared pool. Hosts excellent and very helpful.

This is the second year that we have stayed in Camp Laurent. We are currently in our first week of a two week holiday here. The comments and reviews that have given below are totally unfair to Tracey and Pete who own the camp site. The site is very peaceful, offering a large pitch which is double that of many pitches offered in France. Yes, there are flies this year, but that is not the fault of the owners! The toilets and showers are clean. Yes, there are towels and not hand dryers, but the towels are constantly being changed and are always clean. Tracey and Pete are great hosts who are not 'in your face', but are always available for any problems/queries that you might have. The pitches are shaded and there is Wi-Fi throughout the site. I couldn't hesitate to recommend this site!

A pleasant welcome & good Wifi. Other than that this stay was a nightmare. Nothing the owners could do about it in fairness, but every time we went outside or opened the screens we were literally bombarded with mad, mating flies dive-bombing us & getting into our space. This may have been the proximity to the rather muggy-looking river & the time of year but in short an extremely unpleasant place to be at the time & we were sadly, glad to leave. Something the owners could improve were the facilities. One female, one unisex, one male toilet but all of them including a shower, which means waiting for someone in the shower for 15 minutes. They should have some individual loos available. Insufficient facilities (some with resident spiders) which were full of old cobwebs & not clean when i visited them. The shower in the ladies’ room is good but i had to clean dead spiders down the drain after waiting for the previous guest to finish. 3 toilets & showers combined are not enough on a full site. Also a handtowel for all the guests might offer a bit of a hygiene problem therefore i didn’t use it. Maybe a better idea to install hand-driers/ disposable paper. In fairness there was toilet paper & soap which is good. The pool was smaller than depicted in the photos. It was also extremely cold & full of flies - not really a swimming pool. Part of the reason i chose this camp was because it was the kids holiday & i thought in an adults only camp this would be possible: but with inflatables allowed in what is essentially a plunge pool this was not possible. Also if the sound of kids bothers you- weigh that up against the sound of barking dogs all night. In short, I do not understand where the rave reviews come from. It is essentially in a sloping field with no demarcations or barriers for the pitches & pretty poor facilities. Compare it to some campsites and it is nowhere near 5 *. The place we are currently staying at has pristine & copious facilities & is only 5€ more per night. I am sorry this review is negative as i really wanted to enjoy it- especially after such a nice welcome but for me it fell short in so many ways which the owners could easily improve. Such a disappointment.....

Delightful stay at this peaceful and well-equipped site. Spacious, shaded pitches and wifi throughout the site. We especially enjoyed evening aperitifs by the banks of the Charente and cooling off in the pool during hot afternoons. Great villages and markets nearby in "La France Profonde". Confolens is a pleasant, short drive for shops, restaurants and a place of interest.
