Our room was well decorated and very clean and had a nice view of Lake superior. The hotel lobby was impressive with a large fireplace. We had a nice dinner in their restaurant although the service was slow which was understandable with the staffing shortages. They had a community fire with seating and we spent a nice evening chatting with the other guests under the stars

Hotel's Favorite
My two kids and I spent three nights at Cove Point Lodge earlier this summer. Our room was clean and well-stocked. The bagged breakfasts were a good start to the day. Beautiful views and access to Lake Superior. Fun places to hike and close to state parks, good restaurants, and hiking. Very helpful staff! We loved the bonfires and s’mores each evening. Highly recommend!

We loved our 2-day stay at Cove Point Lodge during our post-wedding mini getaway up the shore! We came 3 days after we got married and stayed in a King Sofa Fireplace room. Beautiful lodge, and every room has a lake view! The staff was so friendly, food was AMAZING, and such a nice place to stay. We drove up and down the shore during our stay and it was such a nice place to come "home" to. We can't wait to come back again someday!

A very nice lodge! We had a wonderful room. The room had a view of the lake from the bed. Beautiful location on the lake!! Adirondack chairs are available on the lawn. Continental breakfast was pretty good. Staff was very warm and friendly. We will definitely stay here again!

We just returned from a three night stay and really enjoyed the place. The location is beautiful! The resort is on its own little Cove which you can walk around to out to the point. It is about a 10 minute walk. There is a little private beach you could use. We stayed in the family suite which included a king bed and queen/twin bunk with an extra sofa. The room itself wasn’t all that spacious for being a suite. They told us we could put our bikes inside the room for safekeeping at night so long as we didn’t scratch the walls… Others must’ve done the same because there were already some dings in the paint. To save time in the morning my husband used the shower/locker room down the hall adjacent to the pool entrance. The resort itself has some nice touches like ginger snap cookies in the lobby, board games set up for you, movie rentals, and lots of picnic tables outside. Presumably they have a breakfast buffet during normal times, but due to Covid you could select from three to-go breakfast options which were all large portions. You could take these to go or eat it in their dining room. There is a lot of food in each box! I enjoy trying the Scandinavian option, which reminded me a lot of a previous trip to Norway. They do provide s’mores kits at the front desk and have a nice area for a fire, but due to the dry conditions currently fires are no longer allowed. The resort is in A good location directly on the Gucci Gammi trail… A short bike ride to Splitrock Lighthouse. It is about a 1 Hour Dr. to Grand Marais, which is a great day trip. The pool and hot tub were nice after a long day of hiking. Again your typical hotel pool. There is also a sauna. I do think the best part about this resort is the beautiful grounds, and the charming atmosphere.
