Front end people were great, fishing guides were terrible. Fishing was sub par and for what they charge they need to keep up with moving houses to different areas. Instead, the guides if they show up to check on you feed you a bunch of malarkey. Been going to LOW for 30 plus years and will find a new resort for next year.
Brian and his staff went above and beyond during our stay at River Bend's Resort. We suffered a significant boating incident while getting caught in a storm on Lake of the Woods. When Brian had noticed our boat was not in the slip, he began calling to check in on us. Fortunately, we were safe, but very cold and wet. Brian drove his personal vehicle as close to shore as he could and gave my cousin and I a ride back to the resort to warm up. Long story short, Brian and his staff did everything in his power to ensure we were safe and enjoyed our stay despite our boating incident.
I wouldn't stay at this place if it was free of charge, that should tell you everything you need to know, but if it didn't... Our fish house didn't have a CO detector like was promised, and some moron had stuffed like 8 paper towels up the flue. We could have died from carbon monoxide or a fire easily! MULTITUDE of other baffling errors by staff. Go anywhere else, this place is unsafe. Gonna report them to authorities for safety issues, maybe then they'll shape up.
Thomas answered all my questions and went out of his way to set me up for what we needed. He was polite and even called me back with a few more details and to tell me what was all included and extras to bring if needed. Thanks
Stayed here before ice fishing. Sherri and Lori are great! Ask for them. They are very nice and accommodating. Helpful tips on local sights and restaurants. Very helpful. River bends is a great establishment!
We have stayed at another resort in the area for years. Decided to see what else is out there. River Bend is a great option. Customer service is on point; from the fishing guides to the restaurant wait staff! Kitchen staff is maybe a bit under staffed, however, you are there to relax. Being rushed from your daily normal grind should not follow you north!!!! I would/will go back. They are working on additional upgrades to make cabins better and more comfortable!
We have been stayed with RiverBend for many years and always had a good experience until February 2018. This year once we got out to our sleeper houses, the holes weren't all the way drilled, not a huge deal since l brought my own auger. The bigger concern was the sleeper house knowingly had a major carbon monoxide leak!! Yet they allowed us to stay in that sleeper anyways. Thankfully our party had 3 sleepers total and we were able to sleep in 1 of those. The guides working the ice Blake and Corbin are awesome and are a complete asset as were the other staff. We were promised a full refund by multiple staff members, which never happened. After a couple weeks I was contacted by the owner Paul who was only interested in arguing with me about how they were very accommodating and he was baffled as to why l think we would get a refund at all. So after years of good experiences, telling friends and family about it and bringing more business to RiverBend, no more! Customer loyalty means nothing to Paul and Tyler. Time for new memories at 1 of the other resorts.…
We had dinner here three times during our stay. While the food is good it seemed a little pricy for what you got. The third day it took us an hour and a half to get our food. Sometimes it was hard to get our drinks refilled too.
My husband and I stayed in a cabin at River's Bend over NYE weekend. We went out fishing two days in their houses. We were very impressed with their customer service all around starting before we even arrived and had to change our reservation from 4 people to 2. They were very understanding and kept us in our original cabin. The cabin was nice and had everything we could have needed. The fishing was slow but the guides were very attentive and did their best to get us fish. They were more than willing to move us to different houses at different depths. We were able to catch enough walleye to have cooked up in the bar/restaurant and it was delicious! All of the food we had during our stay was very good and the service was excellent! We would highly recommend this resort and hope to return! The owners were very personable and friendly! …
We, 6 of us, stayed two nights with day and a half fishing. Price was excellent. The staff went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable experience. Beds were just what you needed after a day on the lake and good food/beverages! The new lodge building was beautiful with cold beverages and tasty food. You are not going to the Hilton but it is comfortable and people are great. They really care about you and the rest of your party. By the way, Captain Adam was a very very good guy and a great guide... We filled out both days..
