Location, location, location! This property is nestled in the mountains, sitting on the beach, with ocean views that are beyond stunning. Three resorts combined in one is truly top-notch. We stayed at Al Waha and had an amazing experience. The staff was welcoming and kind. Service was top-tier. We splurged and got the clifftop breakfast. Our waiter Jessen was amazing, the views were stunning, and romantic would be an understatement for describing the clifftop experience. Thank you Shangri-La Barr!

When you see the photos of this property, you think oh wow this looks like a great beach resort just like many others. Let me assure you, the pictures do not do justice to the sheer beauty, the feel, the vibe and the aesthetics of this place. Every time you get a glimpse of the pure blue water or the mountains amidst which this haven has been created you will be mesmerised over and over again. Let’s begin at check in. There is a gentleman named MURSHID at the reception who I feel is one of the best human beings you can find to check you into a hotel. He wants to understand you, what you are expecting from your room and if he can ensure to deliver it for you at all times of your stay not just during check in. Arushi is fantastic as well, she is brilliant in what she does thoroughly professional, empathetic and always smiling. The rooms I’ll be honest are a little dated and need work, however overall the resort, the service, the attention to detail from the staff and the effort put in by each and every staff with a smile makes up for this on all levels. I’m sure the owners might also be thinking of doing up the rooms a bit as one needs more plug points, new furniture, new drainage such as flush, shower and interiors etc. Keeping that aside good at the restaurants Chow-Mee (JANA AND MAY), Bait Al Bahr(MOHSIN AND DIKSHYA), Al-tanoor (Chef Irshad, Kushagra, Khyaw) and capri court (Maria Theresa, Michaela, Paula) are to die for. Absolutely lip smacking food with superb service. Some of the best global food taste and quality wise one can find. SAMBA for breakfast was good but suffered in both service and quality on 24-25 Dec morning due to the heavy crowd I guess, but still manageable. RUSIRU, ANNELINA, SIBTAIN, ALI, CHETANYA AND DIKSHYA are beautiful souls both professionally and personally. The AMENITIES at the resort the pools, the beach access, the lazy pool are simply mind blowing. If you have children this is nothing short of a dream come True for you. Kids zone REHAB AND RASHA are literally angels sent from Above. Concierge MOHAMED fabulous. Room Service Madhav Arora standout guy, Aruna and team, Jamshed and Ravi are fantastic at what they do. All-in-all I would love to bring my entire family back with me here to this beautiful slice of heaven as I like to call it. Just the rooms At Al waha need some Work and short staff issues mainly at SAMBA and Al- Tanoor during lunch need to be addressed.…

Stunning location, Omani mountains to the back, beach fronted. We had a superior room - balcony - see view over the pool - the room was lovely, massive very comfortable bed, lovely walk in shower. Pool area accessed by stairs (no need to use the lifts at this hotel if you are like me & claustrophobic!) Pool is surrounded by gardens with loads of trees for shade Plenty of sun beds available on our visit in March Plenty of choice at breakfast buffet I asked for a green smoothie & it wasn’t too much trouble, staff more than happy to help The beach is clean & beautiful… a gentle slope to the sea which was clear & warm even in March … lots of brightly coloured fish, sea birds, crabs & the odd jellyfish! The staff we encountered were just a delight The hotel is around 30 mins by car into Muskat City… it’s fairly isolated which gives it the feeling of a retreat If you are looking for a quiet chill by the pool I would choose the adults only Al Husn just along the beach! Overall a really great hotel, beautiful location, premium prices for food/drinks, a warm & friendly environment …

I have stay in shangri-la . The resort was very nice and ambience was very nice. Al tonoor restaurant and food was amazing. The front office staff was very nice and kind. Specially Sushant from concierge was kind and helpful. I recommend this hotel to everyone for vacations and destination wedding.

absolutely wonderful experience in a stunning hotel complex with beautiful surroundings. Especially enjoyed the eco-friendly philosophy of respecting the turtle nesting spots on the beach. This makes this hotel special! Staff was very friendly especially the receptionists Dilanka and Alex welcomed and helped us wholeheartedly!

It was an amazing experience in the shangrila of Oman.alex and dilanka and qais were very very kind person and I will cone back as soon as possible. The teacher of yoga who’s name is alexa was so talented. I will be come back in shangrila Oman with my family. If you come here never goes any hotel in Oman.

A beautiful place, wonderfull atttentive staff, delicious food and very good service. Large hotel facilities, various pools and restaurants. The lazy river was one of the highlights, floating through the hotel facilities. Very quite at night.

The hotel is situated in a nice bay away from the bustle of the city. The hotel rooms are spacious and pretty ok. It's not a 4 star in the design of the rooms lguess it's because it's older. We arrived early and we asked if we wanted a room right away we have to pay an additional OMR 34 ! Found it a rip off! Either they have a room or we have to wait. Not what you would expect in a 5 Star. The breakfast organisation was totally inefficient especially with the coffee and tea orders. The staffwas very friendly. The rooms very clean. Thanks to the staff.
