Another amazing stay 😁🤩 We love the Shangri-La- we use club Mattam for our stays and will continue to visit as and when we can. Miranda in reception was amazing - she helped me resolve a problem which I am very grateful otherwise I think we might have been forced to cancel. The entire team at Shangri-La are excellent. Food is amazing and everywhere is clean. Big shout out to: Miranda (Reception) John (Life guard) Vijay (Room domestic) Navreet (breakfast) See you all again very soon

Me and my family with the children swimming together we were sitting in the Stairs at the pool and this guard came to us and told us to put the children in the kids pool then I told him he knows how to swim then while he is a level 5 and training everyday, whenever I tried to talk to him he keeps mocking me since I have a stuttering problem then this is just unacceptable he was rude to me and making fun of the way I'm talking. He made my Days terrible here What a terrible life Guard.

This is our 2nd time we go to Shangrila this month during the pandemic(though we have visited them a lot pre-pandemic). The quality of their service never change. We have visited other hotels (Al Bustan, Chedi, Crowne Plaza, Intercon, Hyatt, Kempinski) in Muscat and Shangrila will always be number 1. They have accommodating stuff. Rooms are well maintained and clean. Pools are daily cleaned (This is a must especially when you have children who loves to swim and you don't worry incase they drunk a bit of pool water). Shout out to Subaira for helping is with our reservation. Shout out to Nooh in the reception for assisting us on our check-in. The housekeeping are quick when you require sheets and towels to be change additional toiletries and complimentary water, and garbage cans to be cleaned. We had breakfast and dinner at Samba restaurant. The waiters, waitresses and chefs are friendly and accommodating. Shout out to Marybel, Mary An, Harold Lakhsman(Sorry forgot the other names). They even ask what my son wants to eat -pizza, pasta, nuggets, ice cream(you name it and they will definitely bring it to you). The chefs are awesome in assisting the food especially that there are Omanis and even Omani chef ladies. They are friendly enough and describe you the food that is serve. A big shout out to their head chef Hamed and sous chef Mark. It was nice meeting them. Both of them eagerly offer us what to eat and they will be delighted to prepare the food. So on our last day we ask them to prepare TAPSILOG (Tapa, Sinangag, Itlog) which is a Filipino breakfast and it was DELISH!!!! Shangrila definitely gives an awesome experience for families. until next time.......

We have visited this hotel/resort twice. On the first occasion, all was well and we had a pleasant stay, but nothing to shout about. We subsequently visited again with friends and was extremely dissapointed with managers and supervisors who seem unable to actually resolve any issue. The Shangri-La may have been 5* as some point but it certainly isn't presently.

We were roped into buying club matan vouchers for Shangri la Oman last year, supposing the covid restrictions would not still be an issue. We struggled to book a weekend here using our vouchers as it seems clear that Al Waha (the only hotel open at the moment out of the 3) only have a listed number of rooms available for voucher users so more often than not we were not able to book for the weekend we wanted. Secondly because half the hotel is closed and the brunches weren't happening, we have also been unable to use our vouchers meaning it was worthless buying them. Shangri la and Club matan are also very unwilling to budge or offer reasonable alternatives which is a shame. So we finally booked two nights there and found ourselves in the only hotel open which is a family hotel. We don't have kids. It was ok. The rooms were a little dated and nothing special and breakfast was so chaotic. Yes it's because of covid but having someone serve everything including juices meant lots of waiting in queues meaning close contact with people!! Sort of backfiring the covid distance rules!! Anyway other than that it was a pleasant stay but doubt we will go back unless Club Matan extend our vouchers so we can use our Al Husn upgrade when it opens. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Dear Holly, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your recent stay at Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, Muscat! I have noted your comments on the closure of our Al Bandar and Al Husn Hotel and the fact that only Al Waha is operating right now. I fully understand your frustration and I can assure you I feel the same. As you know the COVID crisis has affected our industry hard and we are operating under completely different conditions now due to COVID-19 with all it restrictions and limitations. As for the vouchers we are working closely with our partner Club Mataam and we are also happy to extend validity of such vouchers if they apply to Al Bandar or Al Husn hotel to use at a later stage once they reopen. I am grateful indeed for your valuable feedback for it goes a long way in helping us further improve our product and services. We hope that this will not keep you from visiting our resort in the future! With best regards, René D. Egle Area General Manager Shangri-La Al Husn, Muscat Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah, Muscat
