The Marbella, Mar-bella Collection hotel garners praise for its modern, spacious rooms and immaculate cleanliness, although noise can be an issue for some guests. The elegant atmosphere and array of amenities, including diverse dining and water sports, receive high marks.
While the service is celebrated for its friendliness and efficiency, there are occasional remarks about slow service at busy times. Guests enjoy the scenic location with easy airport access, but the value proposition elicits mixed feelings due to some unexpected costs and buffet variety.

We transfered from a hotel we were staying at to the Marbella, our stay was absolutely outstanding and would recommend this hotel without any hesitation. From the moment we arrived the level of service was exceptional, making outreach stay unforgettable. We were treated on arrival by the most professional team on reception and Anna the front office manager, who explained that our room was not ready yet, but we had been given an upgrade and while waiting we could grab some food and a drink and relax and they would give a call when the room was ready. Marina on reception was incredible, showing us to our room with a breathtaking view!
Further thank you's have o go to Roula in guest services and Nicole and Antonia in the restaurant who all give the impeccable service, thank you again! In addition the bar and restautrant teams both by the pool and all main areas gave exceptional service at all times.
The food on offer was always fresh and hot and the restaurants were spotless (having suffered severe food poisoning at the previous hotel this was such a relief). Breakfast is amazing with fresh orange juice made in front of the guests, omelettes made to order and constant fresh food available.
I would recommend trying the restaurants at the resort as they quality of food and service is second to non.
Thank you again, Anna and the whole team for making the stay memorable, can't wait to return!

We have just returned from a fantastic week at MarBella Corfu as a family of 5 (kids aged 3, 6 and 8) - highly recommend to anyone with similar aged kids, especially if looking for an alternative in Greece to Ikos resorts given crazy price hikes of recent years and booking one of the more luxury room types (we stayed at Ikos Olivia in May 2022 and it was great, but we were looking at paying double for 2024 for same room type). I was a bit nervous before we went due to some of the more negative reviews but I can honestly say we had a brilliant holiday - the girls cried about leaving!
The service at MarBella was truly excellent - both in resort and in advance of our stay over email. Make the most of the wonderful guest relations team (thank you Theodora and Roula!) and pre-book your a la carte restaurants, the included boat trips, ask questions etc. A bit of advance planning and research made a huge difference to our stay.
Room options as a family of 5 were much better priced than Ikos if wanting 2 bedrooms - we splurged on a two-bedroom suite with a lovely private pool, and it was fantastic - excellent layout, plenty of space, great showers (x2), great storage.
The kids loved having the private pool - the main pool was great but often quite busy so it was nice to have another option, especially for our 3-year old. And the separate water park with slides was perfect for the older two - this was a big plus point for us when choosing the holiday and it didn’t disappoint - the “steep hill” to get there that some reviews complain about really isn’t a big deal. The little infinity pool next to the slides is a great touch as it’s perfect for younger siblings - sloped entrance, mainly 0.9m-1.2m, saltwater but really not very salty. The water park water is cold (the kids didn’t care!), the small infinity pool next to it was much warmer but I think unheated - fine in August, might be a bit chilly in May.
We had no issues with drinks service - yes if you order at the bar rather than via the app then most of the time they bring the drink over to your table a few minutes later. But we never waited very long and just took a bottle of water with us to the pools/beach as well. Cocktails in M-Bar and Belvedere were excellent, and also good down at the beach. Quality not as good up at the pool bar, and served in paper cups there, which made sense but didn’t feel quite the same as a glass, but really not a big deal.
So what are the downsides if you’re looking for an Ikos alternative? For us, the main downside was that you do take a bit of a hit on the food compared to Ikos (no a la carte breakfast or proper a la carte lunch, which we did miss, and only 4 a la carte dinners included for a 7 day stay). BUT the a la carte dinners were excellent, you can book them all easily in advance by email, and there’s a great option to pay a small top up for extra a la carte dinners if you want to (you get 20 euros credit per adult and 10 euros credit per child for food, and pay the difference - all drinks still included). We did that for a fifth a la carte meal so only ate in the main La Terrazza buffet twice - it was ok (kids loved it), but we much preferred the a la carte.
Some tips/info that might hopefully be useful for others in a similar position:
- If location within resort is really important to you, ask for a map and put in a specific request. We asked to be in Daphne building, they couldn’t accommodate the first night but offered to move us the second night. Our initial room was in Chloe building. Both rooms were great but the Daphne private pool was significantly bigger and the room was more spacious too, with a sliding door separating our room from the space with the sofa bed (and the other twin bedroom). Daphne is a fantastic central location in the resort. Downsides were that the pool was colder than the Chloe pool as it was bigger and in the shade all afternoon - if you want to lie in the sun on your terrace in the afternoon Chloe building is a better position. The Daphne room also didn’t have standard sun loungers (only the big blue comfy chair and the sofa and chairs, I asked for some but didn’t get any - although I didn’t chase up as didn’t really matter for us ). It was also less private as there is a pathway in front of it that comes from kids club and links to the path down to the beach, without plants screening the private pool from it, so yes you have people walking past. For us Daphne was a great choice but pros and cons to both (and both ultimately excellent rooms!).
- There are lots of different levels and it’s quite spread out - I wouldn’t recommend it with kids who really need a buggy (or for anyone with mobility issues) as navigating around avoiding steps seemed tricky. But this was clear before we booked, and we knew we would probably need to carry our 3-year old a bit at times.
- The food round the pool and water park was ok (decent pizza) but nothing special. The Deck restaurant on the beach now only offers the same “beach canteen” menu as you can order to sunloungers which is a shame, but it was a lovely place to sit and have lunch - it would get a bit samey every day though. Kuzina buffet at lunch is quite noisy and fairly basic, but does have air con. If you are really missing a la carte lunches, there’s a lovely taverna just along the beach by the Nido hotel (Taverna Akrogiali) where we had a great reasonably priced lunch the one day the kids did kids club over lunchtime. We also went to Corfu Old Town one day and ate at a great Italian - A Mano.
- Buffet breakfast at Kuzina had a decent albeit fairly standard selection and was a lovely setting if you could eat outside - but every day except one we were warned off eating outside with quite a curt “the wasps are bad today”. The acoustics of Kuzina inside are unfortunately very loud/grating, and I didn’t find it very relaxing, but everyone we spoke to said it was less chaotic at breakfast than La Terraza. We tried going earlier for a more chilled experience but then there was loud music from speakers that couldn’t be turned down (we were told it would become less noticeable once it got busier and louder with more people - which rather missed the point!). You can order room service breakfast at extra cost - but with five of us and the kids enjoying the buffet we just went to Kuzina and accepted it for what it was.
- The la carte restaurants were all great, both food and service. Our favourite was Deck Grill, closely followed by Celeste, then Kum Kuat and then Kuzina (mainly due to acoustics indoors - we moved outside part way through the meal and it was much more enjoyable - and the a la carte/buffet combination gave it a different feel). If going in August eat after 8pm if you want to eat outside, we had no issues with wasps eating a bit later and the kids were fine with it as they essentially just stayed on “UK time” and went to bed later and got up later.
- The pools are best for kids age 3+ who are confident in the water as there’s no “shallow end” as such or toddler splash area - main pools are 1m40 depth, the infinity pool by the water park does have a sloped entrance but is mainly 0.9m-1.2m. But our 3-year old had no issues and absolutely loved all of them.
- For younger kids also be aware there’s no sandy beach as such - the sand area round the deck can be used to make a small sandcastle but it’s not really a beach holiday in that sense. The kids still had great fun jumping off the deck and seeing the fish that can be easily seen with just a pair of goggles off the steps from the deck. The water was lovely and warm and so clear - our kids swam more in the sea here than ever before!
- We did the luxury catamaran trip to Paxos and Antipaxos at additional cost to celebrate a birthday, as well as the speedboat taxi to Corfu Old Town. Both were excellent and worth paying extra for - and Nikol and Stamatis in the Exclusive Services team are a credit to the hotel, thank you! In hindsight Corfu Old Town was a bit too hot for the kids in August, but they loved the speedboat. The catamaran is pricey but a brilliant day out for a special treat, and we all loved swimming off the boat. We had also booked the included boat trips through the hotel in advance (easily via email to Guest Relations, or you can do it via the app up to 14 days before arrival), but actually ended up cancelling those as the kids wanted more time at the resort after the other two trips - we could have done with 10 days rather than 7 to fit everything in!
- The kids club was fantastic. Just be aware that Worldwide Kids (who run it) open bookings at the start of the season (possibly even earlier), and it’s popular, so book as far in advance as you can - you can cancel online up to 24 hours before a session (and in practice we were able to adjust at even shorter notice). We had no problems getting the slots we wanted and the kids all had a great time - in fact they asked to go back! Particular thanks to Lucas, Beth and Angelina!
- Yes there are wasps but they really weren’t as bad as I had feared from some reviews - they were a bit annoying at lunch by the beach, but it was manageable (even with young kids), and they were not aggressive. Avoid fruity cocktails at the water park (save those for the evenings - they were much better quality from M-Bar and Belvedere Bar anyway!).
- Our kids loved the entertainment shows and live music in M-Bar. It’s a shame they don’t have a stage/area with decent lighting for things like the Circus Show and Fire and Light show, but that was a minor thing for us.
Thank you to all the team for a fantastic week!

We stayed in two superior rooms with sea views, which were very large and had balconies which looked out over some of the hotel grounds and out to the sea. I would definitely recommend the upgrade as I heard lots of people throughout our stay complaining at reception about their rooms and their views. Our rooms were very large and well equipped, and my only complaint is that we had previously requested two rooms next to each other and one of the rooms with twin beds for our older teenage sons. The rooms were next to each other but in their room they had been allocated a king sized bed and a sofa bed. This wasn’t ideal as they are both well over 6ft so the sofa bed was a bit too small. The hotel was at full capacity so there were no other rooms available. We ate in the buffet many times and each time it was very busy but the choices of food were very good. We ate in several of the a la carte restaurants in which we found the menus were very limited, but the food we all had was generally good. We sat by the infinity pool on several days and also went to the beach, but avoided the other pool as it was full of younger children and was impossible to swim in. Most Sunbeds by the pools had towels on them by 9am but there are two other areas where you can find free Sunbeds near the pool up until around 11am and the staff by the pool were always keen to help move beds if needed. There were plenty of beds at the beach on most days. Pool towels are not available until 10am so everyone gets them the night before to put on the Sunbeds early in the morning. In the evening after dinner most people tend to congregate in the main bar area and play cards and chat. There was some entertainment on outside the main bar but it wasn’t all that great and again there were a lot of families with smaller children taking up the seats in that area which put us off. The selection of drinks on offer is excellent and bottles of water are constantly available. The staff were all excellent in all areas of the hotel and always willing to go out of their way to help, particularly the staff working at the pool bar and the beach bar are all great. It’s not suitable for those with walking difficulties as it’s very hilly everywhere and there are lots of steps. I would go back to the hotel but maybe out of school holidays as there were just too many younger children. We all were shocked at how many of them were often unsupervised by their parents and causing chaos in the restaurants and by the pools.

Visited in September 2024 with my family, 4 adults but 2 under 21. We chose to go after the schools had gone back hoping to have fewer children around. This was mostly the case as only a few smaller children, however they were sometimes left unattended in the evenings running around while parents had drinks, which was not the most peaceful.
When we checked in, we were greeted by the lovely Spiros. He explained everything in much detail, organised welcome drinks and gave us a very useful tour. Spiros also arranged a late check out upon our request which was very helpful. He is a credit to the hotel!
We paid extra for deluxe bungalow rooms, which were definitely worth the money. They were very spacious, very modern, very clean, lovely bathroom and had a great view. The only downside was that there is no direct door to the bathroom, although there were frosted doors to the shower and toilet, no complete privacy. We only received the complimentary daily turn down service once in the week and we did not receive the fitness set which was stated to come with the room
The restaurants were all very nice with lots of choice, however the buffet was a little chaotic with lots of people and average food. We found Kuzina for breakfast was much a much nicer environment. We chose to mostly have lunch in the deck bar and grill on the beach as it was a bit quieter, which had a limited menu but fine for lunch. Nikos who worked there was very attentive and polite all week, his service was amazing. The app for getting food and drinks at the pool/beach was very helpful, although sometimes a bit of a wait. Drinks were excellent and strong. We particularly enjoyed having drinks at the Belvedere bar in the evenings and compliment Eleni for her great service and smile! Late night drinks at the Eleonas bar were also nice but the music was very loud in all areas, making it slightly less enjoyable. There was lots of lovely seating everywhere, very nice comfy furniture overlooking the sea.
We had spa treatments which were all very nice, Melina was very helpful and patient in sorting out our treatments in advance and accommodating to our many changes.
The pools shut at 6pm which we thought was a little early and we would have liked to stay much later and enjoy a poolside drink in the evening sun. However we understand they needed time to clean the area and it was always spotless and clean. Towels were always available and plentiful, and always someone to clear up left towels and drinks/food left by the pool.
Top tips: - email the hotel beforehand to book the restaurants, the sunset cruise and day boat trip - email the spa beforehand to book treatments - definitely visit corfu town as there is lots to see and do, if you can take the speedboat water taxi there and back as it was very quick and a fun addition to the day (30 euros each)
We would definitely recommend Marbella, Marbella for a nice relaxing week!

It was always going to be a difficult act to follow for this hotel as we had been to Sani the year before. It is a really nice hotel but it definitely felt a bit like a second rate Sani.
Positives The room was fantastic – we had a two-bedroom suite with private pool and great views. The kids loved the private pool. The only negative was that by about 3pm it was in the shade. The water park was great – again fantastic for the kids. It was a bit annoying to trek through the car park and up a hill to get to it but not a big deal. The service in the bars in the evening was great
Negatives The mini bar in the room was rarely topped and the fridge temperatures were warm. The service at the restaurants was not great. At the buffet restaurant, some aggressive guy sits you down and then no one takes your drinks orders – by the time someone does come round, you’ve basically finished your meal. Although not the resorts’ fault, the wasp situation is horrendous after dark. We had to abandon one meal and then could never sit outside again after dark. The app service was a bit and miss. Sometimes I ordered and nothing ever came, sometimes I ordered and drinks came straight away. So it was a bit annoying never knowing quite what service you were going to get. In the end I just went up to the bars and ordered. The Wifi was fairly sketchy and I noticed that the cleaning around the pools could be better – it always seemed a bit grubby around the pools. The evening entertainment was a bit non-existent. There is no main stage or anything like that for acts.
Summary A really enjoyable stay but having been to Sani the year before this definitely felt like a grade below.

We have just retuned from a weeks family all inclusive holiday. Four adults and two children. We booked two rooms one family room with sea view which was lovely and spacious had a large balcony in the main building and the other a signature room with sea view. This turned out to be right next to the pool. Which was a blessing as most of the family used it for the bathroom facilities during the day! One tiny criticism of the room is that is didn't have any drawer space, The bed was really comfortable and our air con worked great. The shower was one of the best I have had in a hotel powerful with plenty of hot water. The toiletries and towels are of good quality too.
We had a quick and pleasant check in experience with Roula seating us down and providing a glass of bubby . On completion of check in Roula then took us all to our rooms.
The hotel cleaners kept the hotel rooms and public spaces spotless.
Roula was amazing in sorting out Spa appointments for us, getting wine tasting with one extra person booked checking in with us that everything was ok and making us feel really welcome. She is a diamond for Guest Relations. Thank you Roula x
There was never a problem getting sun loungers which were comfortable padded beds either by the pool or at the Water park. Something that I was worried about in August in the school holidays.
One of my grandchildren is Coeliac so we had emailed the Hotel prior to our arrival. They let us pre book the restaurants so the chiefs would know which day we were going I have to say that each restaurant and the buffet went out of their way to provide safe and gluten free food for my grandson. Making him is meal freshly that day/evening. The Chiefs came out to talk to my daughter to see what they could make. Thank you. A special thanks to Sally in Celeste restaurant who was lovely.
I have seen that there has been criticism of the buffet I personally couldn't fault it. There was always a roast plenty of chicken fish and beef dishes. Salads veg potatoes. You are not going to get Michelin star food at a buffet but the food here was good and replenished frequently.
I did have to ask reception for the mini bar restocked and for robes (which should have been there for signature guests) the robes came immediately. We never got the turn down services but that didn't bother me.
There were wasps they did not seem aggressive but the hotel couldn't do anything about this. I have stayed at the Ikos hotels in Corfu and they have the same problem. All the hotel staff had a smile and were pleasant nothing was too much trouble for them taking pride in their hotel. The hotel was full but it never felt that it was overcrowded. Loads of space in the many bars in the evenings. We did find some good wines to drink.
We didn't spend time at the beach as there was no sand for the children to play in but what the hotel have done down there is great if you want the sea and views. I would definitely recommend this hotel for families, a very good quality of All Inclusive.

We arrived late one evening at The Marbella to the most warm, wonderful welcome by Roula our Guest Services Representative. Roula made us feel so very welcome and special. From first stepping into hotel it was beautiful, I could see it was going to be wonderful staying at The Marbella. Nothing was too much trouble and throughout our stay we were made to feel so welcome and special by Roula and all the staff. The lounge areas are beautiful with beautiful styling with touches of luxury and beautiful elements of nature. The reception staff were all wonderful, nothing was too much trouble. The hillside location is beautiful set amongst beautiful trees, with wonderful seaviews from all parts of the hotel. For a family the hotel is a perfect size, offering plenty to do. The many a la carte restaurants are equally wonderful with beautiful food. The buffet restaurant was very good too The pool areas are equally attractive, the infinity pool offering stunning sea views and amazing views also from the top fun pool with slides. The gardens and beach bar and Deck restaurant are beautiful with wonderful shade if needed. The amazing bar staff created wonderful cocktails, a special mention for Alexandros who served some amazing cocktails. We stayed in a beautiful accommodation block called Daphne with stunning Seaviews overlooking the beautiful landscaped gardens, attention to detail was throughout the hotel. The air conditioning was amazing! We loved our boat taxi to Corfu town, which turned out to be a speedboat with beautiful views of the coastline. The staff on the beach running the free water sports were great too, with the option to pay extra for some fantastic motorised sports. Amazing tenor singers! part of the evening entertainment. We had the most wonderful holiday at this beautiful hotel, I really didn’t want to leave . Thank you Marbella hotel, Roula our amazing guest services manager! we will never forget you and how you had a special way of making our holiday so memorable. Thank you for your kindness and thoughtful touch of a card , fruit and snacks when I was unwell. We will always remember this holiday for all these wonderful reasons, and would very much love to return again one day. Thank you Marbella and all your wonderful staff!

We stayed all-inclusive as a family. Best to get the only downside out of the way first. I was in a room that was directly below one of the bars. Each evening at about 10.30 the staff started dragging the chairs around, presumably putting them back where they should be. On one or two nights this went on until 1 am. That said, a family member in an adjoining room complained about the noise and was moved with no problem. Good response but it's a nuisance having to move so if this is likely to be an issue for you, avoid rooms 402 to 412. In every other respect this is an excellent hotel. Our flight was delayed so we arrived about half an hour before the buffet was due to close. A receptionist took us through to the restaurant and the staff in there were outstandingly helpful. The building is well-maintained with the public areas looking really good even though it's obviously a heavily used hotel. My room was large although, as is the case in many hotels, the lighting was very poor. Minor gripe is that it was described as a 'Garden view' room. What that meant was that the balcony looked out onto the terrace of one of the restaurants. There's access to the beach with sunbeds and umbrellas but be aware that there are a lot of steps leading down to it so if you have mobility problems you'll probably struggle. The pools appeared to be excellent (I'm not a swimmer so can't be certain.) The buffet restaurant is the best that I've encountered in a resort hotel. There was loads of variety and the food was of a high standard. The speciality restaurants were a disappointment: service was patchy (there were 12 of us and on 2 occasions, my main course arrived as everybody else was finishing theirs). We were able to eat out at a local restaurant once during our 7 night stay and that was really good. Good food and an entertaining maitre d'. Overall, recommended.

My family and I (2 adults, 3 teens) have just returned from one of the best family holidays we have ever had. We have previously been to five-star resorts such as Ikos, in Greece, so weren't sure how this would match up - but in our opinion, it was extremely close - just a lot less expensive!
The resort is set on a hillside - so yes, there's stairs and slopes (perfect for working off the calories from the most delicious food!) (obviously not great if you have mobility issues - but they do have golf carts and are super helpful if you need support of any kind). The room (2-bedroom bungalow with sea view) was beautifully decorated and had everything you could possibly need. Beds were so comfortable, aircon excellent, TVs with international channels, toiletries provided (shower gel/shampoo and a conditioner in both showers), great mini-bar which was topped up daily and a lovely welcome gift of a bottle of wine, fruit and Greek sweets and pastries.
As we were part of the Signature Life package we were offered two complimentary boat cruises (one sunset and one to the most amazing part of south Corfu, where we swam in the Ioanian sea, saw flying fish and a pod of dolphins!), a complimentary massage and three meals in the themed restaurants plus one dine out experience in a local taverna. The pools were excellent (one sea water one freshwater) with fantastic service (especially Jim - what a fab guy!). No problems getting a sunbed (or 5 in a row!) usually. The beach area was our favourite (not the deck but the actual beach). Yes, as in other reviews it is a small area, but it was perfect, sunbeds available, lovely sea to swim in, and right near the complimentary watersports area - so we used the pedalos and kayaks!
The staff there are just wonderful - our favourite restaurant was Kuzina - they had the most delicious food, breakfast, brunch and dinner (dinner is only as part of the themed offer). We went there as often as we could!
Went to some of the entertainment, which was fab and fun for everyone. Our teens are 13, 17 and 19 and they were all happy and entertained.
Finally, I would like to mention the most amazing staff member who we were so lucky to meet - Roula at Guest Services. She kindly arranged for us to have a late checkout, so we went up to Reception to thank her and she then asked if we had any special restaurant booked for our last night (we didn't as we had used all of our allotted ones), so she went and surprised us by booking us into one of the local Tavernas (as part of their theme dine-out offers) and organised lovely transport to drive us there! It was such a super surprise and we were so excited to be offered such a lovely gesture. We came back after the meal to thank Roula but she wasn't there - so I would just like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you - your kindness literally put the cherry on top of the cake for our wonderful holiday! It was great chatting with you and we hope when we come back we will see you again.
Mar-Bella is great - we can't wait to return!

Excellent hotel. Staff are all really friendly and helpful. The rooms are modern and well-equipped, although the open plan bathroom arrangement and glass/part-frosted door won't be to everyone's taste! Good selection of food at the buffet, and beds always available at the pool (in late September/early October). Food and drink service to the sunbeds was a wonderful luxury (top marks to Jim!). Note that the hotel is "family friendly", so even though we visited (as a couple) during term time we were never far away from a toddler. Some meal times could be quite noisy as a result. Some adult-only areas would be a really good idea. If you're thinking of taking the bus into Corfu town be careful - we tried it once (on a day when the weather forecast wasn't so great), and it was basically impossible. When we got to the bus stop (10 mins early) there were already more than a dozen people waiting there (some for over an hour). We were all wasting our time, as all of the buses were already full when they arrived at the bus stop, and didn't even stop. A shopkeeper across the road took the trouble to warn us that this would be the case, and we eventually gave up and shared a cab into town with another couple. The return bus from town was also crazy busy - not enough seats for the people waiting for it. Fortunately they allowed passengers to stand, so we got home, but it wasn't the most comfortable journey. It would be REALLY helpful for guests if the hotel offered a bookable courtesy bus into the town (or even a paid service), as the public buses don't always meet the needs of guests - you can't rely on them. I've deducted a star from my rating to reflect the fact that we had repeated problems with the safe in our room. It failed to work on 5 of the first 6 days that we were there. As we usually discovered this when we were on our way out, it was a pain in the neck to have to wait for someone to come and attend to it before we could go out. The safe should have been replaced when it failed for the 2nd or 3rd time, but it was 5 visits before it was finally replaced, and the replacement was also hit-and-miss - often requiring 5 or 6 attempts before it would lock. Overall we would definitely recommend this hotel, albeit there is scope for a few minor improvements.
