We stopped in for lunch 8/3/19 2pm the staff seemed to not care about the quality of service or the food we received. It took 20 min before waiter even showed up at our table, another 20 min for our drinks and over an hour for cold food to show up and the orders were incomplete. The sad part is there was only 3 or 4 tables of guest at any time when we were there. When we asked the waiter for missing condiments, he snapped at us about being to busy. (not sure how) At this point we went into the bar and asked to speak to a manager, the young man behind the bar laughed and told us that there was no manager or anyone in charge. This visit was horrible experience for us and our guest. I will not return and would highly recommend other people to find somewhere else. There are plenty of options in this area

This place is a dump! Our room was under a garage in a basement of a converted residential home overlooking the "resort" and I use the term resort loosely. No heat, no ac, damp with mold. Housekeeping continually " forgot" about us. I would have immediately moved out but being the 4th of july nothing available for miles. My daughter slept on a pullout for the 1950s basically a sheet on springs. Our bed was ok but never got clean linens throughout the week. Disputing charge with cc company and expidea. Never ever going there again. Be warned!

Once we finally got there, after a few calls by the staff to let us know they were closing at 10:00 pm. After a long day of driving and dealing with horrible traffic, we understood that they were closing but I found them to be a bit rude. When we got there (by 10:00), They couldn’t check us in because no one seemed to know how to use the computer program, then we were told us we could come down to the bar to get ice 24/7. When I came back down stairs in minutes I was told that was not true! I had to ask someone behind the front desk (that would be closed) and they had to get a key to open the door to get to the ice! The next night we came back from a family reunion and as soon we walked in we were told that the bar was closed. We had to tell them that we just wanted to go to our rooms! The whole place seemed out of whack! Now, on the better side...it was a nice place to stay. The view was very pleasant. Don’t expect a phone in the room or a small refrigerator. Sorry, rant over!

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a newer room that we got. If you can’t climb stairs, ask for ground floor.

While wedding-venue-hunting, my family and I drove up to Buzz's around this time (May) of last year and immediately fell in love with the view and the lakefront property. We had decided on a ceremony spot down the street at Michillinda Lodge and were on the hunt for a lakeside reception spot. We met Buzz and his wife working in the garden and had a lovely Mother's Day brunch. At the time, they weren't considering a Memorial Day wedding because that's usually their busiest time of the year in the restaurant, but somehow we finagled our way in and I'm SO HAPPY WE DID. Jump to this May, Memorial Day Weekend. We ate almost every meal here leading up to our event, we hosted our rehearsal dinner in the Garden View Room, and then hosted our reception on the Sunday evening. Our guests LOVED the views, the dock, the laid back atmosphere, and having the option of popping back to their room on property if they needed to! *Nod to all of the front desk staff, the bar staff, and the restaurant staff - you were all lovely!* Buzz's is a quintessential Michigan lodge. Lakefront, cabin-style, no-frills, great staff. This is *not* your luxury lodge or cookie-cutter brand hotel that cranks out weddings all of the time. It is a 106-year-old lodge that is full of charm and sometimes needs a little love. It is full of a staff that loves what they do and will try really hard to make your stay the best possible. Becky, the General Manager, was our main point of contact and handled all of our wedding planning needs & requests. WOW, did she work her butt off (this lady needs a staff of like 15 people of her own)! In the same vein as before, she is not a wedding planner that you'll find in residence at big corporate venues: while attempting to accommodate our every need, she was also running the place as its General Manager and was operating as the only employee during the off season. So HAVE PATIENCE - it will all turn out great! We had a bit of a kismet moment there -- we met a couple on our wedding night that was at the bar at Buzz's, who had had the same wedding band as us 21 years ago! They come to Buzz's all the time to enjoy the bar and the views. I got a sense that a lot of locals & regional people make this their go-to spot and I can see why. It's pretty magical. Thanks for everything, Becky, Buzz, Nan, and team! Zach and I will definitely be coming back for food & drinks on our anniversary trips!!! :)

Unless they are having a wedding reception, (happened to us once) the food and service is very good! We'd go year round but summer visitors would really enjoy the patio and view of White Lake. They are known for their liver and onions, but other dishes are good , too!
