I recently stayed here with friends for a weekend get-a-way. We had a refreshing and relaxing weekend here! The view from the common area and our suite was truly incredible! It was so peaceful and relaxing to sit and watch the waves! The location is perfect - so close to restaurants and shopping in downtown Grand Haven. Dan and Jackie are taking preventative measures against the erosion. They were wonderful hosts and I certainly hope to visit again!
A few friends and I had a refreshing time away together this past weekend. The views out side our room and the common area were phenomenal even in dreary February. I loved waking up to the sound of waves right outside our room, and enjoyed sipping coffee as we planned out our activities for the day. We were a short drive away from Downtown Grand Haven, and enjoyed shopping and eating at local places, and then got to leave the hustle and bustle and relax back at Lakeshore Bed and Breakfast. The location offers the perfect blend of opportunities for relaxation and activity. There is also a paved bike trail right across the street that goes for miles in either direction. I was able to enjoy a long run and the beautiful scenery all along Lakeshore Drive. Dan and Jackie are thoughtful hosts, ready to offer gems of local history, and ask if there is anything else you need. I hope to be back again soon! …
What a gorgeous place! We had a wonderful girls weekend away here. It is not busy in the off season here so we had the whole common area to ourselves! The views were spectacular! It was warm enough to take a walk on the beach and see the erosion on the dune. It will be interesting to see it after Dan and Jackie put the rock retaining wall on their dune to save it! Dan and Jackie were such wonderful hosts! We loved hearing about the history of the home, the beach, and of course the presidential memorabilia! Will definitely be back again!
I had the pleasure of going to this breathtaking b-and-b for a mom’s weekend get-away this first weekend of February. Let me say this place does not disappoint. From the moment I walked in there was no doubt this place was special. Each strategically placed presidential piece of memorabilia had a story to go with it. I stayed in the presidential suite which was spectacular! The room was very spacious and included all the amenities (tv, mini fridge, WiFi, fireplace with bar, and walk-in closet). It had one king bed with seating and space to spare. There was a giant jacuzzi tub complete with a sky light. But there was also a modest shower and two sinks with large countertops and accompanying mirrors. The carpeting and decor were exactly right to set the mood, a good blend of vintage and modern. There was a walk-out porch connected to the room which overlooked the lake. Or if preferred, there was an incredible view of the lake just through the triple sliding glass doors. The commons room contained a billiards table and lots of comfy seating, as well as a bar area. A fridge, microwave, toaster oven, tv, and Keurig were all included. There were large windows to the west, which again connected to a porch, overlooking the beach and its massive waves in every direction . It was a very well maintained and spotless b-and-b. The hospitality was phenomenal. The owners were very friendly, and if you needed anything they were happy to help. I feel for them as the erosion has taken out so much of their beach front. However, they are taking measures to try and reduce the destruction by having large rocks installed on the dunes. I will be back again and would highly recommend checking this place out for yourself!…
Very nice B&B with excellent amenities (e.g., a private fireplace). The inn keepers are friendly and helpful. A single traveler, I felt welcomed and included in activities. Nothing compares to looking out one’s room with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. I hope to return someday and recommend this B&B without question.
