I was a guest at Union Pier Inn as Covid restrictions were being lifted, but with many rules still in place. During my stay there were only four rooms booked at this amazing inn. Social hour was replaced with a complimentary bottle of wine and individually wrapped cookies/popcorn for the taking. There was a breakfast served in the morning, each table strategically spaced, plus amazing and very accommodating staff. The hot tub was unavailable, but there were complimentary bicycles and beach chairs for use.The well-maintained rooms are charming and clean with outdoor sitting areas and pretty garden views. Given the low occupancy, the inn was very peaceful. Open all year, the area has a lot to offer. It is a short drive to New Buffalo and Sawyer, a short walk to the lake (and Red Arrow Roadhouse) plus conveniently located near seasonal u-pick farms and sports, hiking, wineries, distilleries and restaurants. NOTE: The surrounding neighborhood has grown and with it comes traffic (of the automobile, delivery truck and people-kind). The beach is across the street, but requires a reasonable walk down a dune path to access it. I would definitely return and highly recommend.

Hi Robyne, Thank you for your kind words and fantastic review. We have been very busy since you came and full house every weekend. The weekdays are filling up too. The Fall is beautiful here and the Winter is quiet and you can use the fireplaces in the rooms. Have a great rest of your summer. Hope to see you again. Mary Ann

Great place to celebrate your Birthday. I have celebrated my Birthday 3 different years. I know everyone will be friendly and willing to assist with anything we needed. This has been our go to place in Michigan for years.

Always enjoy this area and the Inn is a fabulous place to stay and relax. The wine hour is fun - meet new people - or have a quiet sip or two. Breakfast is very good and snacks are available all day. Enjoyed the comfort of our room and it was a plus having a balcony to sit out on and enjoy reading or a cup of coffee or glass of wine.

Hi Rainbow 051, Glad you enjoyed sitting on your balcony and having wine or coffee while you were reading. Sitting around the wine table and hearing people talk to each other is so much fun. I love when the Great Room is filled with people and Elvis our outdoor cat loves all the attention too. We can't wait to have the Inn filled with guests again this summer and fall. Stay safe & be well. Hope to see you soon. Mary Ann Manager

We had a wonderful relaxing vacation. The beach was steps away. New Buffalo was a quick drive. Went to the beach there too. Lots of great restaurants and fun. Going back this year with friends hopefully, if we ever get unquarantined!

Hi Amy, Great to hear from you and looking forward to having you stay with us again this summer. Thanks for the awesome review and hopefully this will be a busy summer after this quarantine is over. Elvis, our feral cat is so lonesome and doesn't understand where all the people are.Just give us a call when you want to come visit in July or August, but don't wait too long to call because everyone will want to get away after being cooped up for 3 months. Stay safe and well. Warm regards, Mary Ann
