Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favorite
So, I do think cleanliness in a hotel is a top priority. And I also think that finding a decent place to stay for a decent price in Traverse City is challenging for some reason (been coming here 30 years). But, I will say, this wasn't my favorite stay. The building is old -- that can't be helped. But because of its design, you walk a LOT!!! It's a giant square with a pool in the middle and in order to access the elevator, you walk ALL the way around the huge square to the back and then I had to walk all the way back around the square on the 2nd floor to get to my room. Not a big deal until you add heavy luggage. And whatever fragrance is used in the hallways is so strong that my walks were miserable. Add to that, a room with a window that doesn't open, let's just say I opted out of a second night and drove north to a little motel instead.
It's pricey. It's location is decent. It was clean! But, I won't be staying again.

Our spacious room with 2 very comfortable queen beds had every amenity we could have expected, and more, including the unusual features of a fully stocked Keurig hot drink maker and a built-in night light in the bathroom. The building was quiet and the HVAC worked very well. The furnishings were above average, as were the large, high definition flat screen TV. There was also a larger than average refrigerator/freezer and microwave, which came in handy during this era of Covid. The room and entire building were very clean. The self-serve “to go” breakfast was managed much better than other hotels to provide a safe environment for all. Way to go, Radisson.

I have stayed at this hotel every 3 weeks for the last 23 years and I have never had a problem with anything. Hotel is always clean, staff is very professional and they will take care of anything that you ask.
Parking is very accessible to any of the entry doors and you never have to worry about your vehicle. They take every precaution for keep everything sanitized and safe.
If I had any problems with this hotel I would not still be staying here after 23 years. Very comfortable and you can not beat the price.

Dear fxferryff, I want to thank you for your time sharing your experience and I apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. Guest comments such as yours are the best way I know to monitor levels of service and to correct them as needed. Having rooms not available by check-in time is not what we expected. This is not something that we support, but we understand things do happened. We are deeply apologetic for the inconvenience this has caused you. If you can please contact the hotel, we are more than happy to take care of the billing issue.

We paid $300+ a night in July 2021, and no daily housekeeping. We requested and were told that overstay cleaning is not offered. I feel that when they charge that much, daily cleaning (at the very least, upon request) should be available.
It is worth noting that the staffs are super friendly and the room was impeccably clean upon check-in.

Sleep Inn is in a perfect location, both for those showing at FlintFields Horse Shows, visiting Traverse City, or just wanting to relax and watch some beautiful sunsets over the water.
Our room had a microwave and mini fridge. However with this property location, Choice Hotels would do well to put some money into the property. To stay for a full week and not get housekeeping is substandard, and even though we had 8 USB ports in the room, none of them worked! The sink basin was scratched and stained. With many people wanting to stay a week or more, small kitchenettes in at least half the rooms would be well used, and evening light meals and beer and wine would be a money maker. Or even a real kiosk with food, drinks, snacks and sundries. This hotel could easily go from a 2 star to a 4 star.

I spend about 5-0 nights a year in hotels, and I say often, a comfortable bed and a good shower are the two musts for a good nights stay.
First, the hotel is difficult to find, not hat big if a deal but it is located on a very busy Hwy 31. We were there in September, not a very busy time of the year but found leaving the hotel was difficult with the traffic. The lobby is on the opposite end of the hotel than the elevator, after check in you drive to the back of the hotel to take the elevator to the second floor, our room was actually at the check in desk side of the hotel, so after driving to the back, we walked the hall toward the front of the hotel to get to our room. There was a minimum two night stay, after our room was made after the first night, our coffee was never restocked, when I pointed this out to the desk clerk I was told there was always coffee available in the lobby. Finally, we had to leave early on the second morning and the shower water would not warm up, when I informed the front desk, I was told that the boiler had not heated the water to that end of the hotel.
Awkward layout to the hotel and odd responses o issues, I emailed the hotel afterward to make them aware of our concerns with the room, primarily the hot water issue and the responses. I received no acknowledgement, add poor customer service to the awkwardness.

From start to finish, this was a great experience for the family. The woman at the front desk that checked us in, was friendly and helpful. She greeted us with a smile and provided clear directions, using a map of the hotel, then let me know how to get to the pool and breakfast area from our room as well. The room was clean and comfortable, with a selection of coffee, tea, and cocoa for the coffee maker in the room. There's coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the lobby area as well. The pool/hot tub area is spacious and inviting, with color changing lighting in both the pool and large hot tub. The breakfast area was clean and well attended, and offered a good variety of both hot and cold items. We will return!

This is within walking distance of dining and activities in Traverse City. This looks to be an older motel that has been updated. We were met with a smile on our arrival. The coffee and food items were filled at breakfast. Items included eggs, sausage, potatoes or biscuits and gravy. Cereals, toast, waffles, yogurt, fruit. I brought my own coconut milk so don't know if they had a dairy free creamer. We were out all day so I can't comment on the pool or fitness area. Also had cookies in the afternoon and looked like there was coffee all day.
The beds were comfortable and clean. I check under the sheets to make sure they are clean. The only thing I would suggest is putting a long towel bar along the face of the sink cabinet to hold wet towels. They are folded when dry but nowhere to put when wet after shower so I hung them on the hangers in the open closet.

This place has so many positive reviews I was expecting a little bit more than what it was. Which was pretty basic, but I had no issues. They let me check in very early which I appreciated. Room was clean. Pool area spacious, nice and open late. The Cottage has good food really close by. Breakfast had a great system for taking the pandemic into consideration. WiFi kept cutting off on me. You could hear everything going on in the hallway, so if people are congregating and chatting near your room that could be annoying. I would also note that you really have to make sure the door closes as it would stick and have to be pushed closed. If you don’t have a car you might choose a hotel that is downtown and/or has an airport shuttle which they don’t offer here. Ubers were hard to come by in this area. Overall the rate here was reasonable and my experience was good.

I will maintenance get that taken care of. I absolutely love The Cottage! One of the best BLTS around. :)
