I went camping with a group of friends and the campground was clean. The campsites were larger than I expected and we had plenty of room to put up two tents and park a truck. The only downside is that there is a main highway that runs by the campground and it can be quite loud at times. If you... More

We went to the Traverse City area and stayed at Traverse City State Park for the second time. The State Park has many amenities to offer at a great location in the heart of the area. We had a great time and nice cool weather during our visit in early June. We are tent campers and usually are more into... More

First time trying out this park. Great for winter camping, hot showers & electric. Very few sites plowed. Dump station was open when we were there, but no water available at it. Water is available at the bathrooms. Nice place to walk around & bridge across the road to the beach. This place would not be someplace I would not... More

Just camped here for a fall color tour. This campground is in a great location. The bathrooms are clean and the showers are HOT!!!! My only complaint is that during peak season it is crowded. We prefer to stay toward the back to avoid traffic noise.

This campground is a great value very near the center of Traverse City. We stayed here for 4 nights while touring Traverse City, the area wineries and Sleeping Bear Dunes. The park is quite large but ease to navigate. One bathhouse was new with private showers and clean sink and toilet area. There are older bathhouses scattered around the campground... More

While we have loved all the MI State Parks we've been to so far, this was an exception. The park was nearly empty the four nights we stayed making me more excited to spend more time outside. There was some sort of intermittent sewer - like stench coming from within the park the entire time we were here that made... More

First time ever camping in the TC State Park campground. What a delightful experience. I didn't give them five stars only because of the hi way noise and close proximity to the airport. Lots of things to see and do; excellent beaches, blue water and close proximity to so many attractions will engage everyone in your party to have fun.... More

We just stayed for one night. Staff was friendly. Bathrooms were clean. The park backs up to the TART trail which is really convenient. We biked into downtown! Great trail. The campsite wasn't full so we didn't feel crowded. I don't if that would be different if it were full. Near an airport but planes didn't seem to fly over... More

This park is in a great location. On one side you can walk across a short bridge to the beach and on the other side is the bike trail that can you you for many miles either way. We biked from the park up to Sutton's Bay - 22 miles one way. Great scenic ride and it's on an old... More

We LOVE Traverse City! We can afford to go if we camp in the State Park. You can bike or run the TART trail that runs along the back of the park or cross over the US 31 pedestrian bridge and hang on the beach on the bay. The only problem with Traverse City State Park is that it is... More
