My wife and I are coming up on our 20th stay at the Wellington Inn. It adds up when you visit Traverse City for a three-night stay twice each summer. While I can highlight many reasons for doing this in an area with many lodging alternatives, I would like to point out how we always look forward to our experiences...

We visited Traverse City for two nights last month and were lucky to snag the last room at the Wellington Inn. Our room, which was the most economical, was on the third floor which wasn't a problem for us but if someone had a challenge with stairs it could be an issue going up and down many times a day....

This is a beautiful mansion in an ideal location in Traverse City. The rooms were spacious and had all the modern conveniences of a hotel while taking you back in time with the furnishings and decor. Breakfast was warm and filling and the hosts were very accommodating. The only drawback is the price - upwards of almost $300/night was steep.

After each day's tour of the area--drives into wine country, movies, restaurants, beach--this Inn is a wonderful place to lay your head at the end of the day, on one of the most beautiful streets in the state! Breakfast in the morning was a great start to the day. Barb and Hank are gracious hosts, and we wanted for nothing....

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. Gave you a wonderful feeling of times gone by. Room was spacious, clean and we loved the fireplace. Easy walking distance to downtown TC and many restaurants and shopping. Breakfast was delicious. Certainly would recommend!

Overall an excellent experience staying 2 nights at the Wellington during the Cherry Festival. I would highly recommend to couples that want to stay walking distance to downtown, experience something different other than a typical hotel, and have the means to afford the high price tag. See below for a detailed review by category. LOCATION: Excellent. Could not be better....

The accommodations were great and Barb and Hank are very gracious and helpful hosts. The breakfasts were delicious and we enjoyed the company of our fellow guests. If you are planning on...

My husband and I came here on our "babymoon" in April. We stayed in the Munson Chamber. The room was small but cozy, with an electric fireplace to keep the room nice and toasty. The balcony was a lovely bonus. The breakfast was wonderful each morning, though it was very, very prompt. Owners and staff were very helpful with suggestions...

“The room ( Vortuba?) was nicely appointed and had a nice modern shower. The only complaint is the bed is super creaky- any movement of any kind. It reminded me of my grandmother's bed when I was a kid, so think it needs to be updated. ”
