Pleasant surprise. Yes - the room and shower was small, but not a problem overall. The atmosphere is quaint - not modern if that's what you are looking for. The bed was comfortable and clean, there were all the amenities you need - including real wine glasses and corkscrew in each room. Very quiet and peaceful. Woke up early and... More

Overall I would have say that I enjoyed my stay at Anchor Inn on the Bay. The owners are extremely nice, the property has a small, private beach right across the street and the property is cute. The corners of the rooms were a bit dusty and some of the furnishings need to be replaced but the "cottage" we stayed... More

Lock-Man65, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the kind comments. Also, thank you for voicing your concerns. We take the cleanliness of our units for seriously. The most common comment on our reviews and in house surveys is "very clean". We will address the areas... More

We had an unique opportunity to spend two nights here and were pleasantly surprised. When I reserved, the person I spoke with told me that the room would be small as it was the only one left for those evenings. That didnt matter to me and it was inexpensive by Traverse City standards. Our experience was great even staying in... More

We enjoyed our stay at Anchor Inn and loved the at home feel! Private beach access across a road was great! We spent time there everyday and loved having the beach to ourselves. The water was very clean and only up to 4ft deep for 100 yards out! Great for kids, kayaking, floating, etc! Wear water shoes to make the... More

We had a great experience at the Anchor Inn By the Bay. Our two bed room was clean, surprisingly roomy and the beds were comfortable. It had all the amenities we needed including a large table and chairs. The kitchenette was stocked, the room was quiet and the grounds were exploding with flowers. The staff was so friendly -- I... We were in town for the weekend and this was the perfect place - cheaper than any of the hotels in the area. Room had an old school cabin feel, but was completely clean and spotless. Less than 10 minutes to downtown and 10-15 minutes from the major wineries in the area. Friendly, courteous staff, easy check-in/check out. Stay here... More

We stayed here July 2014 for a few days and decided that if we came back to Michigan we would definitely stay here again. As the other reviews state the rooms are small and nothing fancy; the value is great though. The owners are wonderful, very helpful and have great advice. While here be sure to check out a few... Cute little cabin with everything you need for a great vacation by the Grand Traverse Bay. We stayed in Cabin 13 for a week and it was quiet, clean and comfortable. They had bikes and kayaks and a private beach a few steps away. Innkeeper Sara told us of many wonderful places to go while we were visiting. We were... More

Perfect location for our time in the Traverse City/Sleeping Bear area. Room was comfortable and clean. My kids loved the jungle gym, and the beach (across the street) was great. Crossing the street, not so much. But once you get passed the feeling of being in the video game FROGGER, you will enjoy your dip in the bay. Water was... More

We just left this morning and already miss it. Did not get to know the owners much as we were out enjoying the area most of the day or enjoying sitting on the private beach, but we stayed there a week and it was perfect for our needs. Is the bathroom small? Yes but it serves it's purpose. The kitchen... More
