RESTAURANT ➡ We are a country-side restaurant and we are not ashamed of it. Indeed, we are proud of it. You may wonder what brings you way out of the city and literally in the fields, but traditional Czech cuisine and caring service do the trick, you may get a feel for life as it flowed centuries ago. The offer changes and is only available on chalkboards in the restaurant, but advice is available forom the staff. You are well-advised to reserve in advance as the place is busy especially in the spring and summer months.

I rate here the restaurant, not accommodation. Typical Czech meals in a typical old style Czech environment. Although a long way from Prague town centre, it is definitely worth a visit. Don't forget to make a booking. It is a hidden jewel.

V Polich Penzion & Restaurant is, as it name implies, both guesthouse and restaurant. Our visit was for dining. Contained in the premises of a former 18th century Jesuit farm, it has been lovingly renovated. The décor of the restaurant itself is gloriously chaotic, mixing plain wooden settings with cooking implements, bric-a-brac, tiled floors and Persian rugs. It’s an eclectic mix of Czech, Moravian, Italian and French, and it works superbly. We feel at home immediately, and browse a menu (it changes daily) which aligns with the décor in its variety. We would never have enjoyed this unique experience except for our canny Czech hosts who had discovered its qualities through prior visits.
