Second stay here and we'll be coming back again! Single room cabins are comfortable even in the 80 plus degree weather we stayed in. The private bathrooms are as nice as home. The kitchen has everything you forgot to bring and then some! The caretaker and owners were quick to respond with a question I had.

What a wonderful stay! We enjoyed the common spaces such as the bar and and yard. The private cabins were great to catch up on sleep. Great personal touches. Appreciated the games shed. We will be back!

We hosted a 60th birthday party at the resort and rented out the entire property. We had almost 40 guests and roughly half of them stayed overnight in the cabins. The cabins ranged in size from sleeping 4 to 8 comfortably and came with linens and everything needed. The property was great for the kids to run around and offered a lot of yard games to keep them occupied and allowed the adults to have fun. The grounds, cabins, and common areas were all in great shape and truly taken care of. The bathrooms were fantastic, and the common area kitchen had everything needed for food preparation and storage. It was unseasonably warm that weekend (mid 90's in late Sept), so we all laughed it would be amazing if the property had a pool to use. Outside of lacking a pool, the property does reside extremely close to the public beach on Lake Michigan. There is also a couple of great restaurants and breweries/vineyards within close proximity. Many of our guests ventured off to explore the area and all came back with a great experience and a variety of fun items(wine/whiskey/crafts/etc.). Overall, I would rank this property a 9/10! The management was extremely responsive and easy to work withy. If you are looking for a "glamping" experience in a great area....I would highly recommend Harbor Country Cabins!

We picked this location over a hotel partly due to the location (near where our MI friends live) and partly because the combination of amenities (kitchen, grill, fire pit, outdoor games) was going to accommodate our family (two parents, two kids and a grandma) comfortably. We found the cabins clean and comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen were very clean. Bonus, there were two other families with similarly aged children running around, which meant less work entertaining our little ones. There was a large yard to run around and a partial fence, which for our purposes kept the kiddos out of the street. There is a nice playground across the street. The cabins are a few miles from the Warren Dunes which was a trip highlight for us. The second day we discovered the grocery store in Sawyer (Sawyer Home and Garden) which had fantastic produce and all the food essentials. There is no stove or oven so we had to get a little creative with meal prep. We had a fantastic time and look forward to returning next year. It was just a few days, but will plan for longer. So relaxing. Got to see stars and deer (bonus for my city kids) Harbor country cabins were a great find!

We had a great time at Harbor Country Cabins (the updated name for Snooty Fox). I felt like I was at camp, in a good way. There are 6 small cabins with screened in porches. The smaller cabins have a lower and upper platform queen bed (one is lofted), so you can fit 4 people, and then a small fridge, chair, desk/table and shelves. Each porch also has a couple chairs and a table. (and a golf umbrella if you need it!) I didn't get to see in the larger cabins, but they look to have a bit more space, I think for kids bunkbeds. Everything is super clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are attached to a shared kitchen and are nicer then some of the ones we've had at hotels. The kitchen has everything you need - a big fridge/freezer, coffee pot, toaster oven, microwave, dishes, utensils, etc... and then there are picnic tables, chairs, charcoal grills and a fire pit for everyone to use. We had cabin 3 which is at the back of the property, furthest from the road, shady, and quiet (a few frogs from the lily pad pond were it as far as noise) So we had the longest walk for the bathrooms (which are private - you get a key code), but it wasn't a big deal. Sheets and towels are included, and are nice quality. Timothy was very nice and checked in with us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. I would stay here again the next time we are in the area - the location is good, the cabins are reasonably priced, especially for high season, and very laid back. If it is blueberry season, don't miss stopping in Sawyer at the blueberry patch - they pick and u-pick available. We walked over to Cafe Gulistian for dinner and it was fabulous as well!

I found Snooty Fox by chance. I was looking for a last minute cabin rentals in southwest Michigan that are pet friendly. Snooty Fox is the place and they don’t have a dog size restrictions or extra fees. We travelled with 2 teenager boys, 13 &14 and they liked it even though there is no TV or Wi-Fi service. There are 6 cabins with assigned bathroom for each cabin. Bathrooms are located in a main building very close to the cabins. The main building also has equipped kitchen shared among cabin tenants. It was not a problem as everyone seems to understand the rules – be respectful and clean after themselves. The cabins do not have air conditioning units, but the nights got cool and comfortable. There are has a fire pit section and grills. I can see where camping with a larger group can be a fun, but even with strangers it was nice and relaxing. Snooty Fox is located closed to Warren Dunes State Park (about 2 miles) where there is a dedicated beach for dog owners.

I just got back from a bachelorette weekend including a nights’ stay at the Snooty Fox with four of my girlfriends. We did a winery tour in the daytime, then went back to the cabin for dinner and games. The owner had our cabin all ready, fresh sheets ready to go on the beds, cold fridge, and a stack of firewood ready to go on the handy screened porch. Fresh towels for all of us were stacked in the immaculate bathroom. We used the charcoal he had ready for us to get the mini grill going, and just relaxed at the picnic table while the coals heated up. Meanwhile, the only other family at the resort let their kids run around happily in the twilight, and lit a beautiful fire in the communal fire pit. We realized we’d forgotten bottled water, and asked the owner if there was a place to buy it nearby. He told us the tap water was perfectly safe, or there’s a shop close by. We were perfectly happy with tap water, but he took the time to bring us a wicker tray complete with Mason jars of fresh water and a pitcher for backup. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and the kind of thing you can only experience at a privately owned, well-run place like the Snooty Fox; as a bunch of city gals, were were quite impressed! We were up late, made s’mores, and chatted with the owner by the fire before falling into bed. Falling asleep to rain, then waking up in the morning with sparkly dew on the grass was a delight. A few suggestions: • There are fans in the cabins, which help, but it will be air-temperature no matter what. Be prepared to strip down or layer up! • Bring a cooler if you want ice, or have a ton of food • The cabins have tin roofs, and a couple girls had trouble sleeping while it rained. Bring earplugs if you aren’t sure if you like loud rain noise (‘cause it IS loud!) • Bring bug spray and other such camping supplies • Flashlights or candles to get around at night were very helpful, though the lodge and restrooms are well lit, and the cabins each have an outdoor light.

A recent Memorial Day weekend stay at the Snooty Fox was the perfect two night get away, for two of us plus our dog. The wooden cabin, although small, had a nice sized screened porch, a ceiling fan, electricity, a table, chairs, two beds (one in a loft), a standing fan, lights, and a mini fridge. Bedding and towels are provided. The cabin was situated in the rear of the property near a pond and surrounded by mature trees, so it had privacy. Snooty Fox is also dog friendly, and our dog enjoyed the cabin just fine, especially the porch. The cabins are designed to stay cool, with ventilation as part of the design - however along with the air comes noise. Although not a noisy property, one does hear the highway and occasional train noise. By the second night though we didn't really take notice. And more importantly, we didn't even need the fans even though they were provided, as it stayed cool and comfortable. What you do notice are the frogs, at the pond, an interesting sound indeed. They help to establish the setting though, of being in nature but not without amenities. We really felt like we were at a camp, but this is quite a step up from tent camping, but not "glamping" it is spare but well-appointed. The bathroom, each cabin gets their own private bathroom, is not attached to the cabin but to the main building, which also houses a kitchen. The bathroom is locked and only for use of the residents of your cabin, it was quite large and very clean. This is not a hotel in the traditional sense, but if you don't mind rustic and appreciate being in close proximity to many sites in Harbor Country, including the beaches, then this is a good deal price-wise. Another bonus, they did not have a three night minimum stay for a holiday weekend nor did they bump up prices for the holiday, unlike many other places nearby. We also really enjoyed meeting the new manager Tim, he was very friendly without being intrusive and was available for questions whenever we needed him. Within walking distance are the Swedish Bakery and Café Gulistan, as well as some shops - how nice to not have to drive everywhere. A dog park is across the street, which was great during our stay. I could imagine Snooty Fox being a fun place for a group to rent multiple cabins at the same time, perhaps a family reunion (as their website suggests), or a friends reunion. We plan on returning, even just for a night after a long day at the beach.
