Fabulous riverside campground looking across to the Canadian Sault Ste Marie. A great vantage point to watch the big Great Lakes freighters cruise by. Easy access to the city and only a five minute walk to the dock for the Original Soo Locks Boat Tour. We had bikes with us and it was only a 10 minute cycle to downtown. Sites are all open but quite spacious. Restrooms were very clean and well maintained. My only gripe was booking a site online some months ago. For some inexplicable reason, the dates I selected on the booking calendar were not the dates that came up on the booking confirmation. I was booking from New Zealand, so ended up needing to email the city Recreation Director to get the issue sorted out. It was fix3 though and, on arrival, everything went smoothly. The campground had a really friendly vibe to it. A very nice environment.

I have brought my 40' motor home here every year for the better part of 30 years and sadly I have to say this was the last year I will be staying. Had to call the campground 3 times before someone was in the office who understood how to switch my reservation dates, the young man I spoke to shared my frustration with their co workers, I have been watching this city fall into disrepair, and been hopelessly wishing for a competent team of city adminostrators/commissoners to get this historic and once prosperous city onto the right track. It seemed like the groundskeepers were trying to make a difference, (the earth that had encroached on the pump out station was cleared out and cleaned up after I had watched it get worse year after year.) and the staff who was able to finally help me made me feel like there was some hope left for this city, but unfortunately did not have the opportunity to thank him in person. I stayed from Aug. 20 - Aug. 25 and the bathrooms and showers were the worst ive ever seen. Cobwebs all around the ceiling, dead insects coating the windowsills, and above the dividers between stalls (I can only imagine the mens room) my granddaughter would not use the shower due to the smell of mold and bleach, probably due to incompetence or poor training. The camp hosts were the only reason I would have considered coming back. My neighbor to my site had said one of the campground staff actually called the police about their dog over nothing and when the officer showed up laughed it off like this had happened many times before. Its pretty much the only place to bring a camper in the region(US Side) but I no longer can reccomend anyone, especially a family, to stay here until something changes in this town its faculty is running into the ground.

Absolutely beautiful setting. It is right on the banks of Lake Huron with a outline of Sault St Marie, Michigan. The sites were deep enough for us not to have to unhook from our 38' 5th wheel with F350 dually truck. It is very near restaurants. Seating to watch the ships pass by. The only drawback was no 30 amp and no sewer at sites.

We have been at state parks and national forest campgrounds for the last month. We were excited about being able to use WiFi here. It’s very spotty and weak. We were close to the office so expected better. Otherwise the campground was neat and clean.

When we select a campground we’re usually looking for big spaces with some trees (aka rustic). However, we opted to stay a couple nights here to have a nice view of ships heading to & from the locks. If that’s why you’re thinking of camping here it will not disappoint! Amazing close up views! If you don’t get a site right on the water they have a few nice benches on the bank or you can set a couple chairs up. You can download an app on your phone (MarineTraffic) that will pretty accurately let you know when ships are approaching so you can get yourself in position to watch them. The app will also give you the names of the boats, how big they are, where they’re from, where they’re heading, etc. The showers & bathrooms were clean & had hot water. Fire pits are tiny. If you like camping with people close to you & little privacy then you’ll love that too. If you like trees & bigger sites don’t expect that. But I highly recommend staying a night or two for the experience of watching the freighters. Well worth it!

We are not usually fans of camping in places with little to no privacy (no trees, being out in the open). This campground did not offer any privacy at any site, but it still turned out to be very good. The campground was very dog friendly, it was fun to watch the giant freighters go by on the river, and it was close enough to downtown on a short car ride that being "tourists" was still very convenient. The wi-fi worked well and the bath/shower facilities were very clean. We would definitely stay here again if we ever return to the area!

I arrived and I have a 30amp plug for the camper. My box was wired for 50amp. The campground let me borrow a 30amp adapter. No other campground would do that, without charging something. So appreciative for this. So many ships go by, it is amazing. The restrooms and showers were cleaned and they really did a good job with everything. I will definitely return.

very nice campground with friendly helpful staff. My only complaint was the large amount of geese and thus goose poop everywhere. I know they can be hard to control but it's too bad something can't be done. Kind of took away from the ambiance. Will definitely be back.

I AM SO HAPPY THE CITY NOW IS IN CONTROL OF CAMP. ....... (1). Office Staff ALL Very Friendly . .. (2). Bathrooms & Showers are VERY Clean :) THEY HAVE HEATED FLOORS Which has been in since New Office and Shower Bld Built. LOVE IT. (3). Love the New Sign at the Entrance Only Need to Light it up with Electric Power not Solar. HOPE to See that in Near Future. it is a Beautiful Sign that needs to Be Showed Off. And make it Easy for Us Campers Arriving after Dark to Know They are here. (4). Nice to See Plants in the Planters in the Park and By the Office and a Bird Feeder off to the Side.by the Laundry Room :) . (5). Nice to See They are Trying to Improve the WIFI. They have Added 2 More Repeaters But We Think They need to be put Higher to get Over the Tall Rigs that many of Us have. (6) Would like to see the Sites get more Gravel so We do not need Knee High Rain Boots to Walk in Our Campsite After a Rain Storm.lol. (7) and Make All Grills User Friendly some are Pretty Beat Up. But no.6,7, those are Petty issues. (8). This Camp has Plenty of Sites Big Enough for Big Motor Homes and Lg Campers. We are almost 40' with Scooter Lift on the Back of 36 ft 5th Wheel. You are able to see the St.Mary's River from Most Sites We come here end of June for USA/ Canada Bridge Walk then Come Back in Sept for 2 Weeks. Every Year. Each Site has Water and Power. .....No Sewage Hook Up. But a very User Friendly Dump Station.

This is a basic campground that is not big rig friendly. Mostly back-in sites but we had one of the few pull thru sites. Our site was barely long enough for our 5th wheel and we had to find someplace else to park the truck. Sites are grass/dirt, not well "defined" and close together, W/E only and one bath house for the entire park. No cable but could pickup several OTA channels. Wi-fi, picnic table and fire ring ( but thee were on the wrong side). Located right on the St. Mar's River and you can watch the freighters go by. Lots of road noise. Convenient place to stay to see the Soo Locks.
