We had called in January to book two rooms in July. We had the Wilderness room and the Bear Den. I talked direct to the owner Elaine who was very nice. In pictures, the rooms look a little busy, as it is listed as forest themed rooms BUT they were actually very well decorated, cozy and super clean. We enjoyed lying on our backs on the comfortable beds and looking up at the "sky". We definitely felt as if we were sleeping under the trees (as their sign says). The attention to detail was amazing and made our stay even more enjoyable. We were able to talk to other guests and peek into several rooms. Some of the guests told us the they have been coming back to the Bear Cove Inn year after year and I totally understand why. We had only stayed one night but I would have liked to

We stumbled upon this gem when the casino hotel was fully booked. I’m glad they were because the Bear Cove Inn is adorable. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The rooms were cozy and very clean. I loved the little touches that made you feel like you were at home. We definitely will be back!

We have stayed before at Bear Cove Inn, but this was our first time in the two bedroom cottage. We love this place and it is “our place” if we are visiting the Straits. We were not disappointed one bit in our cottage. The most comfy beds and a kitchen, if we wanted to use it. We loved the loveseat to relax and watch tv. Their rooms are always super clean and so inviting. If you are looking for a normal, bland place to stay this it not it with its darling themed rooms. We brought our friends with us and they were delighted with the charming cottage. We enjoy being outside of town and find it so peaceful. We recommend this place 100 percent with its affordable prices and unusual rooms. Our only improvement would be a fourth chair at the kitchen table since there were four of

This was such a wonderful little gem. We were warmly greeted by the owner upon arrival. It was obvious that she takes great pride and joy in her hotel. We stayed one night in the fish room and one in the bear room (our favorite). Both rooms were very unique, yet tastefully decorated - so many tiny details. Most importantly, it was very clean. The little basket of treats was an nice touch. We discussed going back and staying longer, in place of staying in Macinaw City, we liked it that much! Best part, so affordable! So glad we found this due to TripAdvisor.

One of the BEST motel experiences we have ever had ! OK , so there is no breakfast & no Ice machine, but everything else ,more than makes up for that. The room we had (King Forest) ,was awesome. The bed was excellent. Elaine, the owner was very friendly & we probably took up more of her time ,talking, than we should have. My wife & I almost thought we were "Glamping" (never done that), when we looked up, & seen tree branches w/ leaves on them, in the room ! We actually felt like we were at home & enjoyed every minute we had there. It was quiet & Comfy. They have done an excellent job decorating this place. And even though, there is no breakfast, there is a store ,right next to them, that offers several different items for breakfast. We suggest you try the Breakfast Brats.
