We booked at the Inn based on its location and positive reviews. We were doing cross country skiing at XC Ski Headquarters, and the hot tub in the room was definitely a draw for us to book! And we enjoyed it very very much, staying in the AuSable room. It was very easy to get to the Inn and drive back and forth up to Roscommon to do the skiing. The room was very nice, and I loved having a fireplace to make it seem more cozy. The comfy king sized beds with quilts also made it cozy. Breakfast delivered to the room was really nice, although I'd like to have it about an hour earlier (I'm a morning person.) We also had dinner one night at The Frog Tiki Bar and it was also very good. About the only downside is that we weren't sure what to do when we checked out on Sunday morning. No staff were around, so we just left the outside door key on the desk and hoped that all the rest of the stay expenses were taken care of on the credit card.

We went for a weekend of cross country skiing and snowshoeing. We arrived before 3pm but our room was ready and we were welcomed. The room was as described, and dinner at the adjacent Frog Tiki Bar was fun, including the $30 discount coupon from the Inn. Hot breakfasts, including a pot of coffee, were at our door by 9:15 and were very good—fresh fruit and juice, with a cheese omelette one day and pancakes the next. At check in we chatted briefly with the general manager/executive chef, who took care not to include overly sweet items in our breakfasts.
Coupons for trail discounts at XC Ski Headquarters were a nice bonus.

Our room was awesome, large hottub, fireplace, and slider out to balcony facing the woods. The deal includes a $30 voucher to use at the tiki bar on the same property, and a nice breakfast delivered to your door in the morning! The Inn is very cozy and nostalgic and we already have a room reserved in July.

Have been to the Tiki Bar quite a few times and always wondered how Springbrook Inn was, but since I have a cabin Saint Helen never got the chance. Came up last weekend to check on my cabin (which is winterized). Stopped by the Tiki Bar for a drink and decided to stay at Springbrook. What a wonderful experiance! Staff is exceptional and very personable. They have 2 rooms with hot tubs and all the rooms have fireplaces. We stayed in one with just the fireplace, so quaint and comfy. Also got a $30 credit for the Tiki Bar and breakfast delivered to the room. Our was fresh fruit, cheese omelette with fresh tomatos on top, sausage, toast, orange juice, coffee and diffrent favored creamers. What a treat! Will be back for sure next year when I check on my cabin!

We found Springbrook Inn back in 2017 when we needed a last minute room near Houghton Lake on a holiday weekend. All other places were booked, so we took a chance on this one. We had stayed at a few of the big hotels on the lake before, and we really did not love the atmosphere of any of them, one was even what I would call disgusting! Fast forward 3 years, have stayed in the Springbrook Room (2-3 times per year) every time we have visited the area since then. Breakfast is never a disappointment. We love the Tiki Bar, so relaxing to sit outside near the fish pond for lunch and drinks, before a trip to the lake-house of a friend. The rooms are, well stocked, nice decor and probably the cleanest I have experienced anywhere (my husband and I both travel for work and have had a few years where we have stayed over 100 nights in hotels). I would highly recommend you check this out if you want/need to stay near Houghton Lake.

We stopped by for some drinks at the Frog Tiki Bar. This place had a few surprises. I had no idea there was corn hole on a grassy knoll, (we played, my team won! Go Mikey!!) live music, and tasty treats! We had their large pretzel (with 3 dipping sauces), shrimp cocktail (the biggest shrimps I’ve ever seen!), and nachos (with toppings all the way through the pile). This was not your typical bar food. The dishes were pretty, generous in size and DELISH!

We sat outside right next to their Koy pond. The ambiance was picturesque. It was a lovely surprise!

We booked a room for two nights with a hot tub , the 1st floor Forest View , the room was far from romantic , it was creepy dark inside with no natural light or hardly any artificial light even if you wanted to create some .
The outside patio attached to the room was so small we could barely fit us and the two patio chairs out there .
For what we paid , a mid-week stay , $470 for two nights was a rip off .
We did get two $30 vouchers to use in the tiki bar , their overpriced bar / restaurant on the property.
We think this place is all about making money from the tiki bar outside not the hotel / rooms .
I hate to slam like this but we are not happy at all about the quality of our stay for what we paid .

What a great place to stay! We stayed in a hot tub and fireplace room. The hot tub was clean and water temp was perfect. Room was clean too! A little balcony to sit out on to watch nature and a view of the coolest tiki bar in MI that's part of the Inn. Good drinks & food at the huge tiki bar. The Inn also have a large koi fish pond on the grounds and a couple cornhole boards that we enjoyed using. This is an all around nice place for a stay close to Houghton Lake or just looking for a place to get away for couples. Thank you for a great overnight stay! We'll be back.

Kind of a haunted paradise. On the one hand the very small room contains a king bed and a full size hot tub. Both were clean and up to par. On the other hand the place feels like it's quietly in transition, with the dining room, closed but looking nice from the lobby. The OPEN sign was not lit. The breakfasts, while fine had weak coffee and is served at 9am in the room. Be good to have had a lighter choice for breakfast as well. (Yogurt and cereal for instance) Would have been nice to have bathrobes, as the hot tub is right there and could stay relaxed. The bar is ok and festive and open on the weekends, including Thurs. The kids that work there are great and work really hard too. The bones are all there just not the energy. Maybe it's not a three season place.
