I thought I was living in a budget hotel like Best Western. One month before I arrived, I checked with the hotel if I could get connecting room or on the same floor because I booked 3 rooms. I also ask could they refer me to the housekeeping department since I have a few requests for my stay. It took sometimes a few days, sometimes few weeks for them to response to one email. 1. They said they could arrange baby cot, when I arrived nothing was set. 2. This hotel is not baby friendly. Super noisy outside when people passing by the hallway and the rooms are facing the highway. Baby always awake 3. This hotel doesnt clean your room daily. Doesnt clear trash and refill towels even my towels are on the floor. Quite dirty and super dusty. I have to ask the staff if they could lend me the vacuum that I could do it for them. Housekeeping get off early, if anything goes wrong to the room, front desk informed me that they can do nothing until the next morning. 3. This is not Marriott hotel, more like a 3 star one dont expect any service of cleaning. Much different from what I have experienced in Asia. 4. M club lounge is a joke. Not much food for breakfast. What they call light snacks available are some nuts and gummie bears. They mentioned there are cocktails but none in the evening. Their daily desserts that serve in the lounge was cookies. I dont suggest to add this lounge pass, rather pay on room service. Will never stay again, poor management.

I stayed here for a week whilst on business. First few days I was pretty impressed - check in was great, building good as I would expect from a Marriott in the US although my room was right next to building facilities and so I had a gentle hum the whole time. It has a great bar and dining area and a good selection of food. However, as my time drew on I started to notice some cracks. In the public restaurant (as opposed to the member one) the service was very slow when not being served directly from the bar. Each day, I heard many complaints ranging from speed of service to wrong orders etc. During lunchtime lots of the menus weren't available and on one night I had the worst lasagne served up you've ever seen. Tasted okay except for the bits that couldn't be eaten. So all in all I wouldn't discourage you from staying here at all. It's good. For a day trip or two you'd be fine I suspect. Some more attention in the bar and lounge would really assist to give it another step up the ratings. There were new staff being trained in there though and so I expect they may be addressing things. One of the new ladies behind the bar was brilliant and so when I return I'll try again. Not their fault but why Marriott won't give you nights credited to Bonvoy when you don't book directly with them is beyond me. Don't they want my loyalty even if someone else is paying?

Shame on you Marriott. You need to treat your loyal returning guests and rewards members so much better. Reserve a king suite a month ahead and instead get a double queen room over looking the mechanical system. All because my room was “switched” to someone else. Way to make me feel like a nobody. I visit almost every other week and book certain rooms and pay for them for a reason. Marriott status does not mean a thing. Returning guests, it does not matter. Why bother booking ahead if your just going to down grade your loyal guests anyway??? Thank goodness for the wonderful lady checking me in. No thanks at all to the Pontiac Marriott.

We stayed at this hotel during a volleyball weekend due to the close proximity to our playing facility. The hotel seemed to be popular with many volleyball families. Although parking was difficult to find later in the evening, within the hotel it never felt crowded as there was ample public space and elevators. Check-in was quick, easy, informative and friendly. We had a quick bite to eat at the restaurant prior to heading to play. Portions were large enough that we were able to save left overs in our room refrigerator and eat after a long day. My daughter is a chicken wing fanatic and raved into the next day about her satisfaction with her meal. Room had modern decor, was clean and the beds/pillows were very comfortable. While we didn't spend a lot of time on the property, all in all it was a nice stay. We'd definitely recommend to others.

Having business the following morning in Troy, I opted for this location, mainly due to the cost being lower than the Marriott in Troy. It was maybe a 18 minute drive to my first appointment, so very close. This location has a nice restaurant/lounge, but the concierge lounge as fantastic. it could be the best I have seen/enjoyed in a full service Marriott. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. I will definitely add this to the list of go to places when in the area on business.
