This is about my 7th time to Mogalakwena, and it has always been a magic place to escape to. Beyond the wildlife, beautiful settings and tranquility it must be said that this is a small boutique company that has deeply and meaningfully entrenched itself into the community in a sustainable and creative way. Living proof that you can do well,... More

Together with friends we stayed several days in a lodge of the Mogalakwene resort. The lodges have a good bed and decent sanitation. The Mogalakwene River Lodge is very quiet on a small river. At dusk collect all kinds of animals located on the shore on the other side of the lodge. The dinner is prepared with care; the meat... More

The situation of the lodge, the friendliness of the staff and the general atmosphere made this a really great stay. If you love the bush you will love this place. The access road is 25km of gravel but it just adds to the experience.

Beautiful setting along the river. Charming lodge. I loved our suite, it was big, clean, nicely decorated and comfy. Very kind staff. I would have loved to learn more about the research, but in the weekend there was no researcher present, you may want to keep that in mind when planning your trip. There is a small museum opened daily,... More

I spent a total of three nights at Mogalakwena Lodge in September 2014. The Lodge is about 6 hours away from Johannesburg. I was lucky enough to have been upgraded to an en-suite room literally three meters from the river. They're not kidding when they warn you about the crocodiles! I'm positive I did see one or two from my... More

This place is my idea of heaven, intimate, relaxing,at one with nature but with great food and great staff. Want to go back next year and I never go to a place twice... I think that says it all. The concept that's a place can combine, local craft, conservation and education is great and the Manager Anna made me feel like... More

We stayed at Mogalakwena this past week on our way to and from the Pont's Drift Border crossing into Botswana's Mashatu Game Reserve. It was the perfect way to break the long journey. It was an entirely different kind of 'hotel/lodge' as there is a significant focus on environmental research with a number of students happily sharing their findings with... More
