Based on a recommendation from a friend, me and my husband decided to have a 2 night stay at the Huron House for my birthday. Due to the pandemic, we have not traveled, but we definitely needed a get away and this place was perfect. They supplied anything we needed, while still social distancing. Our room was nice, the breakfast was delicious and the view was amazing!!! We will definitely be planning another trip there.
We stayed twice at Huron House; our first two-night visit in September was such a terrific break from our 'no travel' status that we booked again for early October. The Staff ensures that you can enjoy yourself with little or no contact with any of them (although they are lovely folks, with a shout out to Halley). It's right on Route 23 but totally quiet and private. Rooms and amenities are absolutely as advertised and breakfast is totally delicious. Lots to do in the area if you like being outdoors. Limited dinner options so plan ahead. We will return!
My husband and I stayed in the Oscoda room for two nights and it was amazing. Beautiful view of Lake Huron right from our bed. The balcony was a great place to sit and play games while enjoying the sounds of the waves crash. The room had a very comfortable bed and very soft bedding. The breakfast was truly some of the best food I’ve eaten. Overall, our stay was everything and more that we had hoped for. Highly recommend staying here.
My husband and I just came home from our first stay here. It was romantic and relaxing! The bed was super comfortable and the tub was luxurious. We stayed in the Iargo Suite and our hot tub was super private on our own little patio. The hot tub was a bit small for 2 bigger people. The breakfast and desserts were spectacular, everything was very clean, and the service was terrific. We will definitely return.
This place was amazing. First, if you haven't viewed their website - go there. It is full of information and everything is exactly as pictured. You can take virtual tours through the rooms and they do not disappoint. We stayed in the Alabaster. First floor, lake facing. Their website also has a ton of FAQ's and information. Our room had a private hot tub and front deck. I loved this room. I read on their site that buildings are older and first floors can hear light noise above. We ended up with two sets of upstairs neighbors while we stayed and we barely ever heard anything. Some rooms don't face the lake and for me, that would be must have. Take the virtual tour and see what is important to you. Next, the views. WOW! Older pictures show a beach to the water but due to higher rises lakes and some storm damage it looks like they lost part of a dock and beach. They have rock wall now where the sand stops. Sitting by the fire pits and on the deck (or sand in their provided chairs) is perfect. I do not want to swim in freezing Great Lakes so that was not an issue for me. Plus drive a little down the road and there are plenty of beaches if you need a dip in the cold water. Then there is the breakfast - OMG! Their website doesn't do them justice for how amazing it was. I am gluten free, my husband is not. Every breakfast was catered for us both. The choices were large and detailed. We did not go hungry. You pick a time and breakfast item each day and it promptly arrives. Their chef is perfect. Each day you get a choice of a sweet or savory breakfast or a lighter breakfast. There is also highly dessert. On our last day I said we couldn't get breakfast because we were leaving early and they graciously offered what they could do for us at the early time. Their customer service is incredibly above and beyond. Helpful with any questions or needed and always offering to see if we needed anything. The grounds and rooms are extremely clean. I told them I think it was the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. This room is great with a wonderful high end shower and plenty of room. Our room also has a fireplace, AC/Heater and windows that open if you want the cool lake breeze.…
