My husband and I stayed here for two nights We had a nice little cottage to stay in. We are not right on the water but just a little bit away We were able to walk right to the beach. Watched a beautiful sunset in the first place we found our first yooper lights It was fun. It's a couple that own it are beautiful people. We wish them the best of luck. They're trying hard in a time when it's hard to find people to work. If I had anything to say at all it would be changing out the bedding. Along with do not plan on having Wi-Fi that is strong not to any fault of theirs they were struggling with service of TV and internet the weekend we were there they did everything they could to get it up and running. All in all we would definitely stay again and would like to thank the owners for a wonderful stay. …
We were looking for a place where we could get away from the world and COVID safely. We spent six nights in our lovely cabin right on the shore of Lake Superior watching the lake, reading and doing a jigsaw puzzle. We didn't turn the TV on once! The weather was a little cold and windy, but that made the waves extra fun to watch. It was a little cool to fully enjoy the deck and screen porch, but in better weather they would have been much used. Our cabin was well-equipped with everything we needed to cook our meals and there is a great grocery store in Ontanogan. We enjoyed take out fish (perch!) and chips from a place in Houghton and baked foods from a bakery in Ontanogan. We went for several drives in the Porcupine Mountains, and the leaves were spectacular. The hosts were always available when we needed them, but otherwise left us alone. Everything was perfect.…
Spent 5 days in early September 2020. Rick and Jeni are great hosts and have thought of everything on provisioning their cabins - charcoal grill, fully equipped kitchen, deck, screened in porch, modern facility, fireplace, etc. . This is a fantastic location just outside the Porcupine Mountains and within steps of lake Superior. Lots of waterfalls, hiking trails, boating and night skies. We've already booked a trip back in 2021.
We were only able to rent unit 101 for 2 nights and wished we could have booked a couple more nights. The cabin was well stocked and very clean. The location was right on Lake Superior and the sunsets. were breathtaking. The location is within a few miles to the Porcupine State Park and we we able to do a few hikes and explore the many waterfalls. The owners were extremely helpful telling us where to go. This is a remote area so restaurants are few Syl's in Ontonagon was very good and Pat's IGA supermarket was near by and had everything we needed.
The cabin is very so-so and basic for the price you pay. $300/night. Entered into the cabin with a strong onion smell that never went away. The towels smelled as if no detergent was used in the laundering. There are flies and even a wasp inside that we had to kill. We used our own bedding and blankets, due to COVID. Before we left, we cleaned all dishes and laid them out on the counter because they are still a little wet. Due to the rain prediction the next day, we left one night early. They are very quick to charge me $57.50 for cleaning for nothing to be cleaned. Be careful, walk through the property because you leave, which you should not have to do. For the price they charge, they should not scam customers like this. It's simply indecent and leaves a bad taste.
